Survivors include his wife, Essie; two sons, Russell of Hlnton and Clyde H., stationed with the Army in France; two daughters, Miss Helen Shorter, address unknown, and Ann Shorter Hawks of Richmond, Va; and two sisters, Mrs. A. H. Hawks of Crewe, Va., and Mrs. Ora Bryant of Richmond, Va. The funeral will be conducted at the E. M. Meadows Funeral Home in Hlnton at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Fred Dillon in charge. Burial will be in Restwood Memorial Estates in Hinton. The body will remain at the funeral home. on March 22, 1965.3

Hope, died Sept. 5, 2010, following a sudden illness. Born June 13, 1947, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Fredrick Pack and Mary (Gray) Pack. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Pack. Mr. Pack was an avid outdoorsman and mostly enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family. He was a retired union carpenter and was employed as a contractor consultant for the Raleigh County Board of Education and was also past president of International Carpenters Local Union # 1911. He was very loyal to his work and most of all his family. Surviving: his wife, Gloria Nelson Pack, at home; son, Ronnie Pack and wife Michele of Prosperity; daughter, Angela Metrick and husband Rex of Beckley; grandchildren, Riley Pack, Lainey Pack, Chris Metrick, and Brittney Metrick; brothers, Greg Pack of Maple Fork, and Bruce Pack and James Pack, both of Beckley; sisters, Kathy Perdue of Coal City, Pat Meadows and Barbara Vance, both of Maple Fork, and Dorena Pack of Beckley; and a host of other family and friends. Graveside services and interment for Mr. Pack were conducted Sept. 8 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity with Pastor Mike Gunnoe officiating. on September 9, 2010.2

Richmond, 80, passed away at home on Sunday, June 13, 2010, surrounded by loved ones. He was a native of Summers County, W.Va., and had been a resident of the Peninsula since 1955. Robert was a machinist with CSX railroad and retired in 1994 after more than 40 years of service. He was an active member of Parkview Baptist Church. He was also a member of the McMahon Lodge #303, A.F. & A.M. and the Newport News Scottish Rite Bodies. Surviving members of his family include his wife of 60 years, Virginia Richmond; son, Jack L. Richmond and wife, Sandy of Lake Jackson, Texas; daughter, Beverly Mehaffey and husband, Ronald of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Michael Mehaffey, Tammy Millirons, and Chris Richmond; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Bernard Richmond and wife, Anita, Jimmy Richmond and wife, Anna Lee, Denny Richmond and wife, Rosie, Glen Richmond and wife, Barbara, and Paul Richmond and wife, Hazel; sister-in-law, Eloise Richmond; and 14 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 17, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Robert's life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Parkview Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Rusty Beck. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkview Baptist Church Building Fund, 604 Hilton Boulevard, Newport News, VA 23605. on June 16, 2010.4

Born on November 17, 1926, at Beech Run, she was the daughter of the late Avery Conrad and Bertha Ellen Williams Via. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Shane Richmond; a brother, Howard Lee Via; and an infant brother. She is survived by four children: Drema Kay Rose and husband Earl, of Lewisburg; Noah Bernard Richmond, Jr. and wife Phyllis, of Jumping Branch; Linda Sue Brumit, and her companion Dr. James C. Miller, of Hinton; Richard Keith Richmond and wife Susan, of Jumping Branch. She is survived by twelve grandchildren: Michelle Zicafoose, Kimberly Rose, Kelly Banton, Edward Rose, Michael Shawn Richmond, Stephanie Boswell, Amanda Johnson, Noah Richmond III, Steven Brumit, Melanie Stewart, Nathan Richmond, and Lydia Richmond; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Jean Bennett, of Alderson, and Mary June Cole, of Shady Spring; two brothers, Donald Via, of Beaver, and Norman A. Via, of Beckley; two special nieces, Jane Bennett, of Alderson, and Connie Young, of Charlotte, NC. Eloise was an humble servant of the Lord and a faithful member of the Bluestone Baptist Church, where she worked joyfully and tirelessly beside her sisters in Christ in the church's kitchen ministry. She was famous for her coconut cream pie! She was an active member of the JB-Nimitz CEOS and the Jumping Branch-Nimitz Senior Citizens. She was also a talented seamstress, whose beautiful hand-crafted quilts won recognition in the West Virginia Water Festival and the State Fair of West Virginia. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who loved, supported, and encouraged her family and friends in any way she could. Her loving and generous spirit will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. Funeral services for Eloise will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at the Bluestone Baptist Church at Jumping Branch. Her pastor, Bill Fox, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 6-9 PM Tuesday, at Bluestone Baptist Church at Jumping Branch and at the church one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Flowers will be greatly appreciated, but for those who would prefer to express their sympathy in another manner, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Bluestone Baptist Church. on March 22, 2011.2
