Teel; brother, Colen Teel; sisters, brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law, Opal Teel, Rheba Hamilton, Orpha and Jimmy Willard, Guy R. Duncan, Estes Gibson, and Pamela Teel. Dale is survived by his wife of 55 years, Freda W. Teel; daughter, Sarah E. Crawford and her husband, Steven R. Crawford; grandson, Dustin R. Harris; granddaughter, Paige E. Harris; friend and former son-in-law, Tony R. Harris; brother, sisters, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William F. (Bill) Teel, Geneva Duncan, Ruby Gibson, Wilma Jean (Winkie) and Joe McKenzie; Imogene Teel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Even with declining health, Dale was able to continue the farming he loved with the competent, reliable help of Joe Stump and his brothers, fondly called "The Boys" by Dale and Freda. Dale cherished his grandchildren, family get-togethers, A-Model cars and being with the car club members. Being a faithful member of the Christiansburg Church of Christ for most of his life, Dale enjoyed the fellowship of his church family. Dale's family expresses their thanks and appreciation to all those at Radford Nursing and Rehab and Good Samaritan Hospice for their care, compassion, and kindness. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Christiansburg Church of Christ with Mr. Dennis Curd officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. He also helped recognize local businesses that would help contribute to these programs. He served on Johnston City Park Board for a period of time. He also established the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. He also secured grant money for the GRG-Grandparents Raising Children program. He loved dressing up at Christmas time and playing Santa Claus. He enjoyed collecting nautical and martial arts memorabilia. His major accomplishment was teaching and impacting the lives of those he touched. His favorite saying was “I am just me, Not a lot...just me.” Survivors include his father and stepmother, Robert and Hilga Poff of Huntsville, Ala; two sisters, Nancee Duke and husband, Gary, of Johnston City, Lonnette “Lonnie” Lindsey of Johnston City; stepbrother, Stephen Stamps of Paris, Tenn; nephew, Chris Duke of Johnston City; two nieces, Wendy Smith of Belleville, Elizabeth Lindsey of West Frankfort; two great-nephews, Thomas Duke of West Frankfort, Randy Gore of Arab, Ala; four great-nieces, Brenna Duke of West Frankfort, Avery and Campbell Smith of Belleville, Jessica Gore of Arab, Ala; two cousins, Paul Gore Jr. of Arab, Ala., Debbie Gore of Huntsville, Ala; uncle and aunt, Paul and Joyce Gore of Arab, Ala. Interment will follow in the Amos Family Cemetery, Roanoke County. The family will receive friends Thursday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel. on February 9, 2005.¹
