Gott of Lawrenceville, Mo., and Mrs. Charles Cobb of Kansas City, Kan. Funeral services are to be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Baptist Church by Dr. Frank Crouch of Carlinville. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery here. on August 20, 1945.5

Kinser, 76, prominent farmer and land owner who resided three miles west of here, died at 6:30 a.m. today in Boyd Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kinser was the son of Issac R. and Naomi Young Kinser and was born west of White Hall on April 5, 1878. He moved to this area from Virdin 35 years ago. His first wife, the former Nellie Otey, died on Aug. 19, 1945, on Feb. 23, 1947 he married Barbara Bunse of Alton who survives along with two daughters, Mrs. Floyd K. Chapman of Harrington, Ill., and Mrs. Allen Cole of Palmyra; two sons, Guy and Lynn, both of Greenfield; five brothers, Glenn, Carl and Mark, all of White Hall, Otho of Carrollton and Ross of Greenfield, and two sisters, Mrs. E. L. Blair of West Bend, Iowa, and Mrs. Delia Kinser of While Hall. Mr. Kinser was a member of the Modern Woodmen, Greenfield Masonic Lodge and was a charter member of the Greene County Farm Bureau. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. on August 6, 1954.7 He died on August 6, 1954 at Carrollton, Greene Co., Illinois, at age 76.7

She was born Feb. 13, 1901, west of White Hall, the daughter of John M. and Ellen Otey Kinser. She married Ralph B. Chapman in 1921; he preceded her in death in 1947. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel V. Miller. Mrs. Chapman was a 1918 graduate of Virden High School and attended Illinois State Normal University (now Illinois State University). She earned additional credits from the University of Missouri and Western Illinois University. She was a teacher in Greene County schools including Benear, Pleasant Point, Douglas, Wrights and Burroughs. Her last full-time teaching assignment was the Greenfield kindergarten class of 1961-62. She was a longtime member of Greenfield First Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school superintendent and class teacher. Survivors: three sons, Ralph (wife, Wilma) Chapman of Roodhouse, John A. (wife, Mary) Chapman of Wahoo, Neb., and James E. (wife, Helen) Chapman of Surfside Beach, S.C; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel Kinser Cole of Palmyra. Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Shields Memorial Home, Greenfield, the Rev. Garrett Melvin officiating. Interment: Oak Wood Cemetery, north of Greenfield. on October 9, 1998.3

Kinser, 64, a farmer of near Greenfield, and supervisor of Rubicon Township for 12 years, died Friday at 6:45 p.m. in Boyd Memorial Hospital, Carrollton. He had been hospitalized two days, but in ill health for several months. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kinser, he was born Dec. 1, 1902, at White Hall. He was a 1921 graduate of Greenfield High School. Mr. Kinser was a member of he Sportsman Club and Camp 495, Modern Woodmen of America. Survivors are his widow, the former Helen Rawe, whom he married Aug. 28, 1926, in Greenfield; three sons, Guy O. Jr. Greenfield; William, Brighton and J. Russell, Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Ronny Kipling Marietta; a brother, Lynn Greenfield; two sisters, Mrs. Floy Chapman, Greenfield, and Mrs. Allen Cole, Palmyra, and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in Shields Memorial Home followed by burial in Oak Wood Cemetery. on October 14, 1967.7

Mabel Rosetta Kinser was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Greenfield, Greene Co., Illinois.2 She was born on August 16, 1910 at Sangamon Co., Illinois.2 As of April 5, 1931,her married name was Cole.2 She married George Allen Cole on April 5, 1931 at Greenfield, Greene Co., Illinois.2 Mabel Rosetta Kinser died on April 16, 2015 at Girard, Macoupin Co., Illinois, at age 104.2 She PALMYRA - Mabel Rosetta Kinser Cole, 104, passed on to be with her Savior Jesus Christ, April 17, 2015, at the Pleasant Hill Village in Girard. She was born to John Michael and Ellen Otey Kinser August 16, 1910, east of Virden on the Sangamon and Macoupin counties line. At the age of nine, she and her family moved to Greenfield. On April 5, 1931, Mabel was married to George Allen Cole at the home of her parents west of Greenfield. Mabel and Allen spent most of their 61 years together on their farm west of Palmyra. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 7, 1993. Mrs. Cole's passion was for educating young minds and inspiring young people to "use your mind". Following graduation from Greenfield High School in 1928, she attended six weeks of training at Illinois State Teachers College, Normal, Ill., and began teaching in a one-room country school. She led 4-H clubs, taught Sunday School classes, and was actively involved in Home Bureau while rearing her four children. She then resumed teaching school by accepting the position to teach Headstart at Nilwood. She then taught at schools in Girard and Palmyra. Mabel was an avid reader as well as writer of poems, prose, and short stories. She also loved writing contest entries winning several prizes including a trip to the New York World's Fair while a member of the Springfield contest club. In 1991, she was honored by Lt. Governor Corrinne Wood with the Illinois Woman of Achievement Award. She was inducted into the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame in 2007. Mabel was the last surviving founding member of the Silver Strands Senior Citizens Center in Palmyra. Mabel's Christian beliefs were witnessed strongly throughout her life. As a child she attended Wesley Chapel Church east of Virden and then Greenfield First Baptist Church where she had membership throughout her life. Mabel and Allen were the parents of four children, David (Shirley) of Danville, Gale (Joy) of Palmyra, Nancy Vial of Pontiac, and Kendall (Charlot) of Virden. There are 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Guy and Lynn Kinser; her sister, Floy Kinser Chapman; and one grandson, Jonathan Vial. Burial will be in nearby Oak Wood Cemetery. on April 19, 2015.2
