She is survived by a daughter, Carla Miller of Des Moines; a son, Tracey of Kahoka, Mo; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Sandra Conner of Glenwood, Diana Garringer, Gwen Stull, Dottie Dobbins and Michele Vermillion all of Sigourney; a brother, Gerald of Beacon; her brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. No services are planned. Those who loved her will gather in her honor at a later time. Her body has been cremated. Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney was in charge of arrangements. on June 30, 2005.2

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran church in Hiawatha by the Rev. Larry E. Brelje. Burial: Cedar Memorial. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday and at the church after 10 a.m. Thursday. The casket will be closed prior to the service. on February 18, 1975.1

"Ike" Luense, 59, former city councilman from the Third ward, died Sunday in a Cedar Rapids hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He resided at 2170 Third avenue. He was born June 11, 1913, in Marion and lived here all of his life. He was employed by the Iowa Electric Light and Power Co., for 27 years and worked at a sub-station as an electrician. He was married Sept. 8, 1936, to Helen Ainsworth at Princeton, Ill. Mr. Luense served in World war II with the navy Seabees. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and Marion post No. 298, American Legion. He served two terms, from 1954-58, as a city councilman. Survivors are his wife; two sons, Jim L., of St. Ansgar and Steve E. of Marion, and one grandchild. Services: St. Joseph's church Tuesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Justin A. Kane. The Rosary will be recited at the Baxter Memo rial chapel Monday at 7:30 p.m. Marion post will conduct military rites. on November 13, 1972.6
