Poff and wife, Nancy, of Roanoke; two daughters, Ann P. Hall and husband, Larry, of Chesapeake, and Carole P. Stone and husband, Bryan, of Forest; grandchildren, Barb Fischer of Reston, Dannielle Hall-McIvor and husband, Jon, of Chesapeake, Zack Hall of Poquoson, Kelly S. Davenport and husband, Brian, of Lynchburg, Keri Stone of Sterling, and Franklin Poff of Bedford; a special granddaughter, Laura P Snyder and husband, Rob, of Gainesville; seven great-grandchildren, Alan Edwards, Lyndsey Casteel, Alex Fischer, Isaac Hall, Carys McIvor, Olivia and Cooper Jack Davenport; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ewell, Glen, Ert and David Mullins; and three sisters, Christine Hoover, Ruth Beard, and Edith Sarver. A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Oakey's North Chapel. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Walter L. Wood Jr. will officiate with interment following at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. A longtime member of New Life Temple, Mrs. Poff taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the Auxiliary of the Gideons International & Aglow International. Mrs. Poff was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Phillip O. Poff and a son, Donald E. Poff. Surviving are her son, P. Wayne Poff of Richmond; a grandson, Donald E. Poff of Fort Worth, Texas; her beloved sister, Vera Bolling Perdue. A number of nieces and nephews survive, as well as a devoted brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter F. and Barbara M. Poff, and Martha P. Hartberger; also a sister-in-law. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Oakey's North Chapel with Pastor Walter L. Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Gideon's International Roanoke Valley Camp, P.O. Box 5142, Roanoke, Va. 24012. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel.
