Reed came to West Virginia at an early age and had resided for 55 years at Madams Creek where he engaged in farming. Survivors include his wife, Sarah; five sons, Howard F. of Hinton, John of Ypsilanti, Mich., Archie of Oak Hill, Ray of Bellepoint and Talmadge of Columbus, Ohio; four daughters, Mary of Ypsilanti, Mich., Mrs. W. L. Kiddy of Beckley, Faye at home, and Mrs. Frank Wygal of Nitro; one brother, W. L. of Hinton; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Williams of Hinton; and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mount Olivet Church by Rev. Dwight Harris Beckley. Burial will be in the Restwood Memorial Estates. The remain at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors and will be taken to the church one hour before services. on July 8, 1957.3
