     Winston Rosley Poff Winston Rosley Poff, Apr 18, 1939 - Sep 11, 2024. Winston Rosley Poff, 85, of Copper Hill, Passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Poff; Infant Daughter, Teresa Carol; and his parents, Edmond and Mabel Poff. Winston joined Marine Corp in 1956 to 1964. Afterwards he joined the Navy Seabees and Reserves until 1979. Over the years he enjoyed numerous hobbies. He spent his years working with heavy equipment, running his sawmill, along with fixing antique cars and traveling to various car shows. He is survived by his sons, Mark Poff, Ricky Poff (Nila); grandchildren, Ladonna Yearout Patton (Elliott), Mason Poff, Stephen Poff (Brittany); great grandchildren, Forest, Abel, River, and Draper Yearout-Patton, Layowin Grace Patton, Ruby, Mila and Lucy Poff; brother, Rex Poff ( Liz); special people and friends: Spencer Turner, Stephanie Harris, Liz Ling, Donna Hardin, Shirley Thomas, and Kayla Mullins. Without all their love, support, milkshakes and car rides on back roads he would have not been able to spend his final days in the home he built. A graveside service will be held at Restvale Cemetery with officiating. Funeral Military Rites provided by Floyd V.F.W. She is survived by five nephews and four nieces. Funeral services 2 p.m Tuesday at Boitnott Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Boitnott Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Craig Co. Rescue Squad or Gideon Memorial Bibles. on August 16, 1993.²

     Thurman Dale "Tump" Ruble was buried at Huffman Memorial Park (also known as Chestnut Grove Church Cemetery), Craig Co., Virginia.² He was born on June 28, 1926 at Craig Co., Virginia.^1,8,3 He married Edith Jane Ferrel, daughter of Albert Martin Ferrel and Ressie M. Paxton, on December 21, 1957 at Craig Co., Virginia.^1,9,10,2 Thurman Dale "Tump" Ruble died on November 25, 2010 at Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 84.^8,2,4 He Thurman Dale (Tump) Ruble, 84, of New Castle, Va., followed the dove home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 25, 2010. He retired from Continental Telephone Service in 1982 after 33 years service. He grew up in the Chestnut Grove Christian Church and later transferred his membership to the New Castle Christian Church where he was a member of the Board of Trustees. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Edith Ferrel Ruble; father and mother, Terry and Lottie Ruble; twin brother, Ashby Gale Ruble; and brother, Elmer J. Ruble. He is survived by daughters, Sandra J. Ruble, and Linda R. Reynolds and husband, Raymond; sister, Ida Mae Wallace; nephew, Chester Wallace; niece, Esther Wallace; and special caregiver, Della Meadows. Graveside Services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Huffman Memorial Park with Dr. Ernie Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Paitsel Funeral Home. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the Nursing Staff on 8 South at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their great care and compassion.
