Rev. Kenneth Mullins of the Baptist church and Rev. Henry Humphrey of the Assembly of God church will officiate. Burial will be at the Pleasant Valley cemetery under the direction of Temple Mortary. Snider had been in ill health for a number of years and only last week returned from the Veterans hospital at Sulphur. He was born in Crawford County, Kansas, in 1896, and came to Harper county shortly after World War I ended. In 1920 he married Marian Painter. The veteran leaves his wife and mother, Mrs. M. R. Snider of Buffalo and nine children. The two oldest boys are now in the army, Pfc. Kenneth is somewhere in India and Pvt. William Q. is stationed at Camp Robinson, Ark. The other children are Mrs. Loretta Ogan, Velma, Chester, Sybil, Charles, Donald and Carolyn. In addition, a brother, J. L. Snider, and three sisters survive, Mrs. Elza Buss and Mrs. Richard Buss of Buffalo and Mrs. Mattie Barnes of Coal Run, Ohio. on March 22, 1945.6

He died Oct. 12, 1992. She was a homemaker after retiring from 18 years of service as a nurse at Lindley Hospital. She was a member of Letitia Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law: Jackie and Bobby Jennings and Venita and Bill Morgan, all of Comanche; Terrie and Paul Thrasher, Chickasha; and Jessica and Ronnie Austin, Ringling; three sons and daughters-in-law: Charlie and Sandra Bardsher and Carl and Doris Bardsher, all of Lawton; and Wayne and Janie Bardsher, Duncan; a sister, Opal Davis, Duncan; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters. on June 1, 2005.5

She was born August 14, 1922 in Buffalo, Okla. to John L. and Eva Mae “Ferguson” Snider. She was a seamstress and a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church. Opal married Raymond “Bob” Davis on June 15, 1940 in Duncan; he preceded her in death February 4, 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob Davis; five sisters; and great great granddaughter Gracee Crase. Opal is survived by two daughters, Sonja Roberts and her husband Monty of Edmond, Okla; Linda Voight and her husband Ronnie of Duncan; grandchildren Gaila and Maury Ford, Justin Voight and Layni Voight; great-grandchildren Dylan and Jessica Ford, Kathryn and Allan Crase; great great grandchildren Madison Ford, Boone Downing, Jaxson Ford, and Aaisic Crase. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Duncan, officiated by Rev. Ron Meador. Internment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the directions of Carter-Smart Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial may be sent to American Lung Association. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Voight, Justin Voight, Maury Ford, Dylan Ford, Bobby Joe Hall, and Frank Hall.
