Born May 29, 1927 in Glen Lyn, Va., she was the daughter of the late Mack Akers and Evelyn Long Akers Corder. She was retired from Glenwood Park Retirement Village and was formerly employed at the Celanese Corporation in Pearisburg, Va. and Maidenform in Princeton. Mildred was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She and her late husband were lifelong farmers and owned and operated Boothe's Nursery at Glenwood Park until their retirement in 1977. In addition to her parents, her first husband, Lawrence Thomas; her second husband, Oka L. Boothe Sr; one infant grandson; and two brothers, Hobart Akers and Andrew Akers preceded her in death. Survivors include six daughters, Gayle Amick and husband Paul of Nallen, W.Va., Pat Cowan, Loretta Hatcher and husband Chris all of Princeton, Drema Hasse and husband Dave of Lake Areil, Pa., Sharon King and husband Donald, and Rachael Pitcher all of Princeton; one son, Oka L. Boothe, Jr. and wife Sara of Princeton; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Francis Nelson of Troutville, Va. and Ruth Dunn of Princeton. Funeral services were conducted at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 4, 2008 at the George S. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Dan Jividen officiating. Burial followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. on April 12, 2008.1

Jean leaves behind her brother, who was one of her best friends, Randy Randazzo (Char) of Carmel Valley, sister Ruth (Bill) Murphy of New Mexico and her "little" sister Marie (Tom) Kassing-Mastre of Salinas. Two daughters who will carry on the memory of their mother are Geraldine (Hossein) Vafa and Helen (Brian) Brtan. Jean leaves behind, five grandchildren, one great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories in Salinas. on May 8, 2007.4

Until we all meet again, he left behind a caring son, Rodney Bailey and a special daughter-in-law, Demona Bailey; a loving daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Russell Palmer. Also surviving are his grandchildren, John Linkous, Jr., Mindy and Justin Tolley, Melissa and Joseph Bailey and Jerry Pickeral, Jr; and one that was just like his own, Chassidy Spence. He was blessed to have three greatgrandchildren, Baylee Woods, Kal Bailey and Conner Tolley; as well as one brother, Ray Bailey; and three sisters, Rosie Schroeder, Dottie Warfe and a very special sister, Gertie Bailey. He has many nieces and nephews and several special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Interment will follow with military honors in Evergreen Burial Park. on August 31, 2004.5

Harless, 68, Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather who never met a stranger. He was predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Beatrice Harless. He is survived by his wife, Betty Harless, son, Timothy Harless (Angela), grandsons, Alex Harless, Andrew Harless; his brother Jackie Harless (Cheryl); his sisters, Gladys Wright (Kenny), Brenda Shockley (Kemp) and Glenda Harless. He is also survived by the two joys of his life Abigail Rose Bailey and Hannah Michelle Harless.
