His Social Security Number was 628-34-7428.3 Zachary Allen Tredway was born on November 24, 1992 at Harris Co., Texas.1,3 He died on October 8, 2011 at Plant City, Hillsborough Co., Florida, at age 18.2,3 He TREDWAY, Zachary 18, of, Plant City, departed this life on Oct. 8, 2011. He attended Plant City High School and was an employee of Plant City Premier Cinema. He was loved by many. He is survived by his parents, Allen and Cindy Tredway; sisters, Allison and Hannah Tredway; and many loving family and friends. on October 13, 2011.2 He PLANT CITY - Friends, family members and coworkers recently held a candlelight vigil in memory of an 18-year-old known for his infectious smile and outgoing personality. Many tears were shed as those closest to Zachary A. Tredway celebrated his life. Tredway was killed Oct. 8 when his car hit a tree on Thonotosassa Road. The Oct. 13 vigil at Walden Lake polo field was organized by a childhood friend, Florida Strawberry Festival Queen Victoria Watkins. "I thought it would bring some closure to his family and show them how much his death has hurt his friends too," she said. Zachary lived with his parents, Alan and Cindy Tredway, and was close to his sisters, Allison, 24, and Hannah, 15. As dusk settled on the field, mourners, many of whom were teenagers or in their early 20s, hugged and openly sobbed. A story board, photo album and candles were placed on a small table that became a gathering spot where memories were shared. "He was a great kid. Always smilin' with never anything bad to say about anybody," Samuel Gamez said. A recent Plant City High School student, Tredway had been taking night classes to complete graduation requirements while working at Plant City Movie Premier Cinema 8, where he sold tickets and food. "He was an amazing worker and was universally liked by everybody," former assistant theater manager Joshua Fate said. Friends and co-workers recalled their days with Tredway at Tomlin Middle School and Plant City High. "He was so, so smart," TyLynn Eben said. Tredway's favorite activities included going to the beach and gathering scallops with family and friends. "He always had a book with him and loved to read, especially poetry," Skyler Almaguere recalled. Just before leaving his friends for the last time, Jeremy Riolo remembers, "Zach's last words to us were, 'Everybody needs to learn to get along because life is short, I'll never forget him saying that." Tredway hoped to one day get into management at the theater. As a tribute to him, the theater displayed a wooden cross with an image of a swallow in flight that was made by Plant City High shop teacher Robert Hage. Buffy Harrington, director of the theater, asked Hage to make the cross, which was to be moved to the roadside where he was killed. "We will all miss him," said Harrington, who altered the theater's Oct. 14 show times so his coworkers could attend his funeral at Plant City's First Baptist Church. Watkins, who sold stickers and T-shirts bearing Zachary's image to help the Tredway family, said her heart aches for the loss. "He was so intelligent and could always challenge me and make me think philosophically. He also made me laugh. I will miss the debates and we will all miss that gorgeous smile of his." His parents were too distraught to comment, but close family friend and neighbor Charity Miller said that the vigil mirrored the way the community pulls together in difficult times. "I would never live anywhere else. If anyone has trouble or a crisis in their lives, everybody jumps in. It's not if (you can help), but when can I help," she said. "This vigil is proof of that." on October 26, 2011.4
