Teresa Dale Brantley Teresa Brantley Thomas, 72 of Roanoke, Virginia went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 15, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Brantley and her mother, Edith Stancil. Teresa was a Christian and a member of Villa Heights Baptist Church, and lived her life with faith in God. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 2006 (a social and service organization). Teresa believed in supporting and giving back to her community through the organization’s work. Teresa’s main focus and greatest accomplishment was her family. She was a wonderful wife for 52 years to Danny, a loving mother to her sons, and a beloved grandma to her grandchildren. Teresa enjoyed hosting all the family get-togethers and spending time with her loved ones. Teresa is survived by her husband, Danny Thomas; her sons, Chad Thomas (Andee) and Tyler Thomas (Andrea); her grandchildren, Hope, Noah, Lilly and Charlotte; her step-father, Horace Stancil; her sisters, Susan Watts, Kim Hasselbring, and Penny Livingston; and her nieces, Kristi Byers and Caron Stallard. Interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.2 She was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.2 She was born on October 10, 1949 at Rocky Mount, Edgecombe Co., North Carolina.3,1 She married Danny Stultz Thomas, son of Shurley Stultz Thomas and Blondine Virginia Poff, on January 30, 1971 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2 As of January 30, 1971,her married name was Thomas. She was a native of Springwood, W.Va. and was born February 3, 1917, to the late Matthew and Grace B. Oyler. She was the widow of her loving husband, Dwight D. Coleman. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Dennis M. Poff Jr. Mrs. Coleman is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Arlene C. and Dennis M. Poff, Shelby C. Brooks, Mark A. Brooks, Zelda C. and John V. Shaffer; grandchildren, Sara Grace Shaffer, William Coleman Brooks; great-grandchildren, Chadwick Michael and Rachael Renee Poff; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Gertrude Oyler; sisters and brother-in-law, Kathryn O. Dodd, Geraldine O. and Guy Bost; numerous loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 3, 1998, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem, with Rev. Eddie Gilpin officiating. Entombment to follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. A reception will be held immediately following the entombment at Westside Church of Christ, 1305 Starview Dr., Salem. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
