The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Home. on September 4, 1995.6

He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and serves as a minister for the church throughout the area for many years. He was a member of the UMWA District 29. Survivors include his wife, Melda Whitt Martin; one son, Clyde Jr., of Akron, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Don Jividen of Alexandria, Va; one stepson, Dwight Reed of Stanaford; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Riley Reggi of Stanaford, Mrs. Glen Fleming of Eaton, Ohio, Mrs. Dennis Huffman of Sanford, Fla., and Mrs. Hanc Smith of Beckley; three brothers, Rev. Carl Martin of Beckley, Frank H. and Bill, both of Akron, Ohio; five sisters, Mrs. Clay Jackson, Mrs. Roy Harless, both of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Merriman Archie of Flat Top, Mrs. J. W. Ferguson of Josephine and Mrs. Arthur Mullins of Blacksburg, Va; 32 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The body is a Calfee Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Jim Stanley and Rev. Clarence Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be M. H/ Smith Jr., Ronald Smith, Thomas Darlington, John, Dwight, Randall and Anthony Reggi and David Flemming. on October 23, 1973.3

He was a retired minister, a member of Grace Chapel Church of Beckley and Bethel Freewill Baptist Church, MacArthur. Surviving: wife, Nina Ruth Rinehart Martin; sons, Larry Carl of Austin, Texas, Jerry Taylor of Glen View; daughters, Wanda Ann Taylor of Newport News, Va., Frances Jane Jackson of Cunningham, Tenn., Jeanette Claudine Meadows of Beckley; brother, Willie Lee of Ohio; sisters, Lucille I. Mullins of Blacksburg, Va., Lena Mildred Archie, Edna Ruth Jackson, June Harless and Katherine Ferguson, all of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Prosperity, with the Rev. Bill Calhoun officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Prosperity. on July 22, 1992.3

     Lucille Irene Martin was buried at Sunset Cemetery, North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.3,4 She was born on February 27, 1915 at Virginia.4 As of July 2, 1931,her married name was Mullins.5 She married Arthur Dewey Mullins on July 2, 1931 at Mullens, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.3,5 Lucille Irene Martin died on April 22, 2004 at Virginia at age 89.3 She Lucille Martin Mullins, 89, of Christiansburg, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur D. Mullens; two sons, Dale and Paul Allen; and great grandson, Gregory Lynn Dobbins. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold H. and Lee Mullins of Christiansburg, and Dewey G. and Geraldine Mullens of Woolwine; two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and Ernest Waddell of Stanford, Kentucky, and Mrs. Robert (Carol) Wood of Christiansbug. Lucille is also survived by a sister, Mildred Archer; a brother, Bill Martin of Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Midway Community Church with the Rev. Wallace W. Yopp officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carilion Hospice Services New River Valley, 707 Randolph Street, Suite 251, Radford, Va. 24141. The Mullens family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg. 382-2612 on April 24, 2004.3
