Steven Carlyle "Steve" Conner Steven Carlyle Conner, 68, of Salem, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, December 18, 2020. He was born in Roanoke, a son of the late Elmo and Mary Rhodes Conner and was an area resident all his life. He proudly served his country in Vietnam, in the United States Marine Corps, and was Honorably Discharged following the war. Steve was employed as a HVAC Technician for many years and enjoyed going to the shooting range, fishing and road trips, most of all, he enjoyed doing these things with, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Martha Reynolds Conner; a son, Steven Wayne Conner; his daughter, Jenny Conner and her husband Steve Obenshain; grandchildren, Victoria Conner and Scott Addair, Nick Conner and Chris Conner; a brother, Thomas Daniel Conner; brother-in-law, Daniel Madison; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Fisher, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for 6 ½ years and received an honorable discharge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Becky Reynolds and Mary Reynolds. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Reynolds of the home; two sons, Daniel Matthew Reynolds and Burt Quincy Reynolds; three stepsons, Jimmy Lee Gilmore, Shawn Thomas Gilmore and David Roy Light, Jr; sisters, Martha Conner and Elizabeth Reynolds; several grandchildren who loved him very much.5 He was born on February 22, 1953 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3,4,5 He married Bonnie Sue Little on June 11, 1971 at Elliston, Montgomery Co., Virginia.3 Daniel Madison Reynolds and Bonnie Sue Little were divorced on June 5, 1985 at Forsyth Co., North Carolina.7 Daniel Madison Reynolds married Patricia Ann Mills on November 11, 1989 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.3 Daniel Madison Reynolds and Patricia Ann Mills were divorced on February 21, 2006 at Wythe Co., Virginia.8 Daniel Madison Reynolds died on December 28, 2023 at Virginia at age 70.5
