Poff of Roanoke; a son, P. Wayne Poff of Richmond; a grandson, Donald E. Poff, Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Martha P. Hartberger; and a brother, Walter F. Poff, Sr. both of Roanoke, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 1999, from Oakey's North Chapel, Pastor Walter L. Wood will officiate. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International, Roanoke Valley Camp, P.O. Box 5142, Roanoke, Va. 24012. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel. on June 29, 1999.2

Services will be conducted 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Roanoke and 2 p.m. Saturday at Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Ralph Green. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery at Shenandoah. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the church in Shenandoah. A respected realtor in the Roanoke Valley for more than 25 years, he was a member of the Roanoke Valley Board of Realtors and president for the year of 1991. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Barbara Mullins Poff; two sons, Walter F. Poff, Jr. and David Kevin Poff and wife, Nancy of Roanoke; two daughters, Ann Poff Hall and husband, Larry of Chesapeake, Carole Poff Stone and husband, Bryan of Forest; grandchildren, Barbara Poff Fischer and husband, Chris of Clifton, Va., Dannielle and Zach Hall, Kelly and Keri Stone, Franklin Wade Poff; and a special granddaughter, Laura Poff Snyder and husband, Robert of Haymarket, Va; three great-grandchildren, Alan Edwards, Lyndsey Castelle and Alex Fischer; a sister, Martha Hartberger of Roanoke; four sisters-in-law, Ruth Beard, Edith Sarver and Reba Poff, all of Roanoke, Barbara Poff of Conneaut, Ohio; a brother-in-law, David Mullins of Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews. He had a multitude of friends and was like a father to many. The family extends a special thanks to the Roanoke Memorial EM staff, Dr. Donata, John Elliott, Dr. Weaver, Dr. Dorsey and group, the 12 West nursing staff, and NTICU nurses, Amy, Susana, Chris and Peter for their care and kindness. Harris, South Carolina; four granddaughters and two grandsons; and a sister, Ollie Shreeves of Roanoke. on August 6, 1998.2

Blanche Bulah Slone died on March 1, 1995 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 91.1 She HALE, Blanche B., 91, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, March 1, 1995, at her home. She was born in Franklin County August 22, 1903, the daughter of the late Esmond C. and M. Minnie Cannaday Slone. She was the widow of Morgan C. Hale. She was preceded in death by her brother, Elton A. Slone. She was a long time and active member of the West End Presbyterian Church. The good Lord heard her prayers and granted her last wish, to die in her own bed peacefully asleep. Surviving are her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Alvin C. and Jean C. Nash Hale, Marvin L. Hale, Roanoke, Fred C. and and Ruth N. Kramper Hale, Indianapolis, Ind; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four nieces; and four nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 1995 with the Rev. H.D. Scoggins officiating. Interment will be Sherwood Memorial Park. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to West End Presbyterian Church, 1200 Campbell Ave., S.W. Roanoke, Va. 24016. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 2 to 4 PM. and 7 to 9 PM. Friday. on March 3, 1995.1

Survivors include: his wife, Ruth; daughters, Carol Paris of Orlando, FL and Susan Hale of Indianapolis; son, Roger C. Hale of Columbus, OH; brother, Marvin L. Hale of Roanoke, VA; grandson, John C. Hilton of Orlando, FL; granddaughter, Lynn Lanning of Chicago, IL; and great grandchildren, April, Holly, Penny and Graham Lanning and Sarah and Morgan Hilton. Contributions may be made to the church or to the charity of donor's choice (Alzheimer's, Diabetes, Cancer, or Heart). There will be no calling hours and funeral services are private. Arrangements are being handled through Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center- Washington Park East. on September 10, 2003.1

She will be remembered by all who loved her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Nadine Rash. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Edward Walker; sons, Larry Walker (Nona) of Roanoke, Mark Walker (Sandra), of Westminster, Md., Dean Walker (Carol), of Eugene, Ore; and daughter, Brenda Simmons (Larry), of Salem; grandchildren, Rebecca, Ryan, Emily, Jesse, Anna, Jenny, Hallie, Graham, Clay, Matthew, and a special grandchild and caregiver, Michelle Sachenbacher. Eleven great-grandchildren also survive. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice, as well as Tiffany and Kathren, for all of their love and care. on August 18, 2013.3

Eva was a member of the Church of the Brethren before moving to Maryland, where she was active in the Church of God in Rockville, Md. She is survived by two daughters, Lillian Kuster of Montgomery Village, Md. and Margaret Harris of Roanoke; two sons, Marvin and wife Pat of New York, Raymond and wife Peggy of Mt. Airy, Md; daughter-in-law, Peggy Clem of Apex, N.C. and one sister-in-law, Reva Carter of Mt. Jackson, Va; five granddaughters and two grandsons; 23 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services Monday at 11 a.m. in the Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Floyd, with the Rev. Elbert L. Naff officiating. Interment will be in Jacksonville Cemetery, Floyd. A special thanks to the staff of Richfield 3 East for all the special care and love given to our mother. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wood Funeral Home. on December 16, 2001.1

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eva Jane Clem; two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Silcott, Rockville; and Mrs. Howard Sowers, Pilot; four sons, Elmer Clem, Glen Clem and Raymond Clem, all of Rockville, Marvin Clem, Roanoke; three brothers, John S. Clem, Elmer D. Clem and Irving Clem; four sisters, Mrs. Nettie Williams, Mrs. Roxie Maye, Mrs. Eva Litton and Mrs. Reva Carter; eight grandchildren.
