Mr. Smith was previously employed by Boron Coal Co. and the K&J Coal Co. He was a member of the Church of Christ, River Road, Clearfield, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie Number 812, th Mosquito Creek Sportsmen's Club and the LeContes Mills Fire Co. On July 27, 1943, in Clearfield he wed Lucille (Peoples) Smith who survives. In addition, he is survived by five children, Melvin of Clearfield, Kenneth of Glen Hope, Shirley Gormont of Clearfield, Donna Kowalcyk of Texas and Kathy Santaite of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and three sisters, Leslie Smith of LeContes Mills, Ursula Johnson of Buffalo, N.Y., Leola Plubell of LeContes Mills and Mona Butler of Boalsburg. He was preceded in death by three brothers, his twin brother Ronald, Homer Hile and Jacob. on July 7, 2000.2

Stiner and husband Raymond of LeContes Mills, Suzette D. Plubell and companion Tim Prisk of Curwensville, Rhonda K. McGovern and husband Douglas of Frenchville, and Mark A. Plubell and wife Andria of Clearfield; fourteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; a sister, Mona Butler and of Boalsburg; and a brother, Leslie Smith of Clearfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy B. Plubell on May 14, 2007 and whom she wed June 30, 1951 in Frenchville. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Ronald, Homer and Jacob Smith; and a sister, Ursula Johnson. Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville, on Friday at 11 AM with Father Philip Billotte as celebrant and Raymond Stiner. Gray, 73, for 16 years a resident of Colton, succumbed yesterday morning at the home her son, R. B. Gray, of 648 Twentieth street, San Bernadino. She had been visiting there for her week. A native of Texas, Mrs. Gray was a resident of 835 East C street, Colton. She had been ill for several months. Surviving are her two sons, Kenneth of the U.S. Navy and R. B. of San Bernardino; a daughter Bertha DeGroot of Layton, California, and 2 brothers, Thurman Ragsdale of San Bernardino and George Ragsdale of Orange. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in the I. M. Knopsnyder & Son chapel of Colton. The Rev. Virgil L. Ledbetter of the Colton First Baptist church will officiate and interment will follow in Hermosa Park cemetery. on July 26, 1945.4
