Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Dale Bowman and the Rev. Branan Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's South Chapel, Roanoke. Arrangements by Wood Funeral Home, Floyd. on November 19, 1995.¹

Hale, Floyd; parents, Harvey and Merle Mannon, Bassett; four stepsons, Richard Ingram, Wesley Ingram, James Ingram, Joseph Ingram, all of Floyd; two sisters, Jennifer Post, Woodstock, Lynn Scott, Bassett; three brothers, Jimmy Mannon, Floyd, Gary Mannon, Roanoke, Randy Mannon, Martinsville; close friend, Sherre Powers, Floyd; four grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Helen C. Smith, of Roanoke, Va; one brother and sister-in-law, Mick and Cindy Smith, of Copper Hill, Va; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Shaynee Canales, of Denton, NC; one daughter, Maria Mathis, of Copper Hill, Va; sister-in-law, Ann Atkins, of Daytona Beach, Fla; sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Gary Hall, of Jacksonville, Fla; special niece, Teri and Garin Grayson, of Daytona Beach, Fla; nephew, David Smith, of Copper Hill, Va; nephew, Gary Hall, of Jacksonville, Fla; niece, Kelly and Blake Britt, of Jacksonville, Fla; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was employed for over 30 years for UPS Freight, formerly Overnite Transportation. Services will be held at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011. Pastor Shawn Tanner and Pastor Marty Moyer will officiate. Interment will follow in the Copper Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
