     David Valentine Thrash David V. Thrash, one of the most kindly, genial hotel men that ever lived in Lewis county, and who had a host of friends among the pioneers of this section, died at Pe Ell Sunday morning, October 14, following a spell of continued ill health. The funeral, under Masonic auspices, was held in Pe Ell, Monday, October 15, at the Methodist church, Rev. Andrew Monroe delivering the address. Deceased was 72 yeare of age, and had lived in Lewis county since l889, when he located at Winlock. He was a native of Asheville, N.C., where he was born March 1, 1851. From Winlock Mr. Thrash moved to Pe Ell, where he lived until 1903. Later he resided in Beliingham and at Aberdean for some years. ln 1913 Mr. and Mrs. Thrash returned to Pe Ell. The death of Mrs. Thrash,two years ago affected the husband deeply. Dave's old-time friends and acquaintances will regret to hear or his death.9 He was born on March 1, 1851 at Asheville, Buncombe Co., North Carolina.3,4,9 He married Laura Haseltine Clark on September 13, 1871 at Buncombe Co., North Carolina.10,4,6 David Valentine Thrash died on October 14, 1923 at Pe Ell, Lewis Co., Washington, at age 72.5,9

     Jesse Marion Green was buried at Riverside Cemetery, 53 Birch Street, Asheville, Buncombe Co., North Carolina.4,5 He Judge Jesse Marion Green - Judge Jesse M. Green, one of the best known citizens of Asheville and Buncombe County, died Saturday (September 29, 1906) morning at 2:35 o’clock at his home in Asheville. Judge Green was 66 years of age at the time of his death and had been in failing health for some months but devoted more care to his wife than to his own health. For many years he had been a prominent and highly honored citizen of Asheville and constituted one of the substantial and conservative classes of citizenship. He served Buncombe County faithfully as Judge of the inferior court a number of years ago. His death was heard with sincere regret by many people. Judge Green served with honor in the Confederate Army the entire duration of the civil war, enlisting in the Zeb Vance Rough and Ready Guards. He was married forty years ago to Miss Laura Thrash and the widow and four sons survive him, Dr. Nat Green, Gay Green, Ottis L. Green and Grover Green, all prominent citizens of Asheville. The funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 1906 at the home of Judge Green. The funeral services were conducted by the Masonic Order and Rev. J.A. Cook of Haywood Street Methodist. Interment was at Riverside.4 He was born on April 22, 1840 at Buncombe Co., North Carolina.1,6,5 He married Laura Lucinda Thrash, daughter of John G.
