She attended Kenaday Presbyterian Day School and remembered going with her family in a covered wagon to the Pig River Church. Mrs. McAvoy was a past member of the Fayetteville Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville, and most recently of the Bethlehem Church of the Brethren, Boones Mill, Va. Surviving: sons, William B. Conner of Kennett Square, Penn., and Glenn H. Conner and Roy C. Conner Jr., both of Jacksonville, Fla; sister, Beulah Nichols of Manetta, Va; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services were June 22 at the Flora Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, Va. Interment was June 23 in the High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
