Mr. Manning worked at the Viscose Plant in Roanoke for about 3 years and also at the General Electric Plant in Salem retiring after 29 years of service. He was a member of Isaacs Lodge # 29 in Boones Mill, Va. He also worked with the Credit Union Committee of General Electric for several years and also belonged to a Square Dance Club for years. Mr. Manning was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Manning was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Manning; parents, Grover and Retha Boone Manning; sister, Rebecca Manning Reinis Feulner; brother-in-law, James Lee; brother, Arnold Wade Manning; brothers-in-law, Earl Johnson Jr., Norris Poff, Mintauts Reinis, Gary Feulner; sister-in-law, Helen Manning. Mr. Manning was a member of Red Hill Church of the Brethren for about 75 years in Roanoke County, and is now a member of Southview United Methodist Church in north Roanoke County. Mr. Manning is survived by his sons and daughters –in-law, Michael Manning, John and Doris Manning, Donald and Marie Manning; grandchildren, Rachael Manning, Jacquelyn Manning, Jake Manning, Travis Manning, Jocelyn and Barrett Barnett; step-grandchildren, Alison Manning, Dereck Long and wife, Gail Long; great grandchild, Taylor Long; sisters, Jo Ann Poff, Maxine Lee; brothers, Alvin Manning, David Manning and wife, Betty; sisters-in-law, Betty Simmons, Betty Jane McDowell. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at Oakey’s North Chapel, with the Rev. David Ford and the Rev. Tony Emmons officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lee was born June 9, 1927 in Boones Mill, VA, daughter of the late Grover Wade Manning and Reatha Boone Manning. She was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lee was very active at First Baptist Church serving as a volunteer with the Food Closet, Soup Kitchen, and the Bereavement Committee. She was also active in the community where she volunteered with the Red Cross, Hospice, Callaway Gardens, and the Special Olympics. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Carter Lee, sister, Becky Reinis, and two brothers, Arnold Manning and Carlton Manning. Survivors include her son, David C. Lee of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Martha (Ed) O'Connor of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren, Meghan O'Connor of Atlanta, GA, Jay O'Connor of Savannah, GA, and Tyler O'Connor of Atlanta, GA; sister, Joanne Poff of Vinton, VA; brothers, David (Betty) Manning of Boones Mill, VA and Alvin Manning of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law, Betty Simmons; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at First Baptist Church on the Square with Rev. Cade Farris and Dr. Paul Baxter officiating. A private burial will be held in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church on the Square. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to be made to a Hospice care of your choice in memory of Mrs. Maxine Manning Lee. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the many caregivers that took exceptional care of Mrs. Lee. on February 25, 2016.6

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Spradling Manning; daughter, Angela Manning and friend Jim; brother, Alvin Manning; and sister-in-law, Betty Simmons. David is also survived by many precious nieces and nephews; special friends, Doc Blanchard and Dewey Bryant. No words can ever express our appreciation to all of our fierce prayer warriors in different churches, individuals, friends, and especially our precious Boones Mill Church of the Brethren where Dave served as usher, Trustee, and Sunday School Secretary. We express our appreciation to Lewis Gale Medical Center doctors and nurses and Amedisys Hospice for the special care given to Dave. Dave loved to hunt, as everyone knew, and he loved God's beautiful creation and enjoyed seeing the deer, turkeys, birds, bears, etc. We will really miss him, but we know he is in God's loving hands now with no more pain and lots of clear breaths from now on. Please do not bring food to the house, but you may take to the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren Fellowship Complex where a meal will be served after the service. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren in Dave's memory. A memorial service will be held at the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren on Saturday, September 21 at 1:00PM with visitation at 12:00PM. Rev. Connie Christine Manning was buried at Mountain View Memorial Park (also known as Mountain View Burial Park), 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia.3 She was born on July 12, 1928 at Virginia.1,6 As of April 10, 1948,her married name was Milliron.2 She married Robert Edward "Ed" Milliron on April 10, 1948.4,2,3,7 Connie Christine Manning died on August 5, 2011 at Franklin Co., Virginia, at age 83.3,6,8 She Connie Manning Milliron, 83, of Rocky Mount, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011. She was born June 12, 1928, the daughter of the late Omer and Viola Manning. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, R. Edward Milliron; brothers, Alton, Gordon and Malcom Manning; and sister, Carmel Manning Crouch. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Robert L. Milliron (Orlean), of Charlottesville, and Charles E. Milliron (Laurie), of Rocky Mount; and former daughter-in-law, Wendy Milliron. She is also survived by six grandchildren that she adored and loved dearly, Bobby Milliron (Nicole), Nancy Helm (Justin), Christie Bolton, Sarah Milliron, Connie Milliron, and Janie Milliron; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carol Nichols, of Bent Mountain and Agnes King, of Hot Springs. Connie was always striving to help others. She pursued her passion of helping others by going back to school to become an LPN, and retired from Roanoke Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center after more than 25 years of caring and comforting others. Connie was a member of Boones Mill Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. The family would like to thank Kathy Hunt, Dr. Jack Bumgardner, Faye Turner, and Gareth and Cindy McAllister for their help in caring for Mama during her recent years. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at Mountain View Memorial Park with Mr. Jack Milliron officiating. Crouch, 84, of Vinton, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2010. He was retired from Ingersol-Rand Corporation. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carmel Manning Crouch. He is survived by his wife, Alton Richards Crouch; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Lee and Karen Crouch, and Bradley Allen and Karen Crouch; and grandchildren, Zachariah Benjamin Crouch and Lindsey Marie Crouch. Funeral Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Roger Graves officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Evie Milliron, four sisters Thelma Milliron, Evelyn Milliron, Frances M. Funkhouser, and Janie Milliron, and three brothers Jessie, Elbert and Clarence Milliron. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Connie Manning Milliron; two sons Robert L. Milliron and Charles E. Milliron; six grandchildren Nancy M. Helm, Sarah Milliron, Christie M. Bolton, Connie Milliron, Janie Milliron, and Robert Milliron, III; one great-grandchild Madisen Milliron; one surviving sister Clara M. Broughton; special nieces and nephews Jack Milliron, Billy Milliron, Tommy Broughton, Bob Milliron, Janet M. Shockley, Joyce M. Ferguson, and Pat B. Bennett. Mr. Milliron worked with his dad and brothers at the family owned sawmill and later retired from Cooper Wood Products after thirty years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Boones Mill Rescue Squad having been one of the founding members in 1963 and serving as captain for over ten years. Mr. Milliron was a member of the Isaac's Masonic Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. for over fifty-eight years. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Jack Bumbgardner, Dr. John Lystash, Dr. John Starr, Dr. Rene Fredstrom and the nursing staff of the CCU and PCU at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Graveside services will be conducted from Mountain View Memorial Park 11 a.m. Tuesday with Masonic Rites. His family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount. on January 1, 2007.1
