He was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on January 17, 1927, the son of the late Justin D. Manning and Mary Ellen Poff Manning. He worked for Eastern Airlines as a customer service supervisor for 37 years and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and then the First Baptist Church of Buchanan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Hazel and Gladys, and a grandson, Chris Wood. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Hedrick Manning; his children, Rob Manning (Lisa) of Dallas and Anita Race (Ronnie) of Buchanan; a brother, James Manning of Roanoke, Virginia; grandchildren, Ronda Waters, Davin Manning, and Tiffany Gentry; six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.⁴

Wundram of Frederick; daughters Billie Sue Owenby of Arden, N.C., Betty Jane Collins of Hemett, Calif., and Leah Ann Dustin of Clarksville; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville, where interment will be held. on March 24, 2001.² She Finnie P.
