Light. In remembrance of our brother, Chester L. Light, who was killed in action 59 years ago on this date. Pvt. Light entered the military in March 1944 and was sent overseas in November of that same year where he served in the 3rd Infantry Division of the Army. He was killed serving his country in World War II on January 24, 1945. He was resident of Christiansburg, Va. The many years since his death has not lessened the loss felt by his family which includes two sisters, Fannie Spradlin Hamil of Blacksburg and Bonnie Hinkley of Christiansburg, and two brothers, Archie Light of Christiansburg and Ray Light of Salem. on January 24, 2004.2

Archie is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Light; children, Joyce Harris and husband, Winfred, David Light and wife, Terry, and James Farley and wife, Joyce; step-son, Jackie Akers and wife, Ellen; grandchildren, Teresa Patrick and husband, Mark, Randy Harris and wife, Roberta, Kenny Light and wife, Michelle, and Justin Farley and wife, Deb; step-granddaughter, Tracy Barley and husband, Jason; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Stephen Patrick, Madison, Katelyn, and Riley Farley; step-great-grandchildren, Camden Mielnicki, Kane Whitlock, and Brooke Whitlock; brother, Ray Light and wife, Frances, of Salem; as well as nieces and nephews. Archie was a faithful member of Open Door Baptist Church for over 30 years. He loved the Lord, his animals, and playing his accordion. Archie always had a smile on his face and was a wonderful, kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. on November 19, 2014.3

Lephew. A special thanks to Louise Lephew, her bedside companion.
