He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mamie Hudson; sister, Ruby Ann Spicer; and his first wife, Mary Jean. Arney proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired as district manager from Verizon Communications. He was a member of Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church and former member of Belmont Presbyterian Church. He was the oldest member of the Roanoke Chapter of the Harley ?Davidson Group and a life member of GWRRA. He is survived by his wife, Jean Pritchett Hudson; three daughters, Willamena Simpkins (George), Donna Thompson (Kenneth) and Diana Early (Donald); three brothers, John Hudson (Cindy), Bill Hudson (Susie) and Michael Hudson; two stepdaughters, Karen Moses and Janet Miller (Richard); six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of his Life will be held at noon on Monday, March 14, 2016, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Pastor B. Failes officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church. on March 13, 2016.3

Born May 19, 1929, at Hiawatha, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Robert and Lorraine Manila Privette Ridinger. Rosemary graduated from Matoaka High School in 1947, and was the valedictorian of her class. She then attended Concord College where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in English. For many years, Rosemary worked for the Mercer County Board of Education where she served as an English Grader, retiring in 1989. She loved her family, was an avid quilter, doll collector and homemaker. Through quilting, she developed a pen pal in Australia that she cherished for many years. Rosemary was a member of the Painters Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the Willing Workers Group. Survivors: Her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, James S. “Jimmy” Mayberry Sr; two children, James Scott Mayberry Jr. and his wife Loretta Lynn of Speedway, Carla Lynn Hanchock and her husband Don of Princeton; two grandchildren, Dustin Hanchock and wife Jessica, Todd Hanchock; her brother, Joseph Lowery Ridinger and wife Jean of Pittsburgh, Pa; two special nieces, Patty Ridinger of Patton, Pa., Cindy DelSignore of Pittsburgh, Pa; special sister in law, Ruth Mayberry Elmore of Speedway. On Sunday, July 1, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., we will celebrate the life of Rosemary Mayberry from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Tommy Mounts officiating.
