Funeral services will be held at 2 o,clock Tuesday, Dec. 9, in the Hurt Funeral home chapel. Rev. R. C. Kinningham of the Church of Christ officiated. Internment will be in the Dewey cemetery. on December 8, 1947.4

Conner, Jr. (Glyne) of Roanoke, Lori Conner Peters (Kevin) of Salem, Lisa Conner Riviere (Cam) of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Lewis Conner (Diana) of Fairfax, Va. and Scott Duffield of Roanoke, Kristina (Duffield) Mace (Todd) of Grottos, Va. and Kristopher Duffield of Roanoke; and 14 great-grandchildren: Kensley and Khloe Mace of Grottos, and Ashley and Jonathan Conner of Roanoke, Sarah, Austin, Carrie and Aaron Peters of Salem, Rachel, Laura, Jacob and Grace Riviere of Pittsburgh, Pa. and David and Benjamin Conner; and by a brother, Calvin Conner, of Roanoke County; plus many nieces and nephews. Mr. Conner was born in Carvins Cove of Roanoke County, Virginia. He received his formal education at the Cove Elementary School. The majority of his education was self taught through work, on the job training, and reading. He began contracting when he worked for the Civil Aeronautics Administration during World War II. He founded Aaron J. Conner, General Contractor, Inc. in 1954, providing public utility construction even today. He was a hands on Christian contractor/owner with a strong faith in Jesus Christ foremost, coupled with skill, quality, responsibility, and integrity, were what his life was all about. He touched personally many municipal projects from the Heart Land to the Atlantic coast of America. He was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church, in Salem, Va. He was past moderator of the Roanoke Valley Baptist Association, Past President of Roanoke Valley Missionary and Social Union (the church planting arm of the RVBA). He was part of the planting of the following Baptist Churches: Connelly Memorial, Roanoke Avenue, Green Ridge Baptist Church, Mountain Pass Baptist Church, Craig Valley Baptist Church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Lynn Haven Baptist Church, Layman Memorial Baptist Church, North Roanoke Baptist Church, Rainbow Forest Baptist Church. God led Aaron J. Conner, to personally start and support the Roanoke Valley Baptist Visitation Ministry. (A Nursing Home Visitation ministry in the Roanoke, Valley). Aaron J. Conner carried his strong faith in God into many other Christian and Civic organizations: The Villa Heights Lions Club, Past President and Melvin Jones Fellow Recipient, The Roanoke Rescue Mission, Past Board Chairman and long time supporter, The Baptist Children's Home, Past Board Chairman and long time supporter, Oak Hill Academy, Past Board Chairman and long time supporter. Aaron J. Conner continued to show Jesus to his peers as he unselfishly gave his service to the Associated General Contractors of Virginia and America where he served as Past President of the AGC of Va. and a Life Board Member of the AGC of America. The family extends a special thank you to Hazel Horne a faithful niece and Ruby Adams a caregiver and companion. Interment will be at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery. on December 1, 2006.5

Ramon Redford, pastor of the First Christian church, assisted by Rev. T. N. Lowe, pastor of the M. E. church, and Rev. W. S. Leake, pastor of the Baptist church. Mrs. Hancock was in her sixieth year and had been in declining health for a long period. She had lived here ten years. She is survived by six children - Mrs. D. N. Lawler and Mrs. W. O. Smith, of Clifton Forge, Va; H. W. and Dewey Hancock, of Fordwick, Va; Mrs. N. B. Betts, Ruth, Margaret, and Frank Hancock, of this city. Four brothers and two sisters also survive. They are Willie Lamb, of Crayville, Va., Ed and Wood Lamb, of New Castle, Va., and Mrs. Annie Biggs and Mrs. Bessie Pullen, of Eagle Rock, Va. Interment will be made in Old Blanford Cemetery, at Petersburg. on December 30, 1925.2

She is survived by daughters, Valerie Tullis of the home, Carol Underhill and husband Larry Underhill; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous family members and friends.5 She was born on April 2, 1934 at Wynona, Osage Co., Oklahoma.5 As of December 3, 1949,her married name was Tullis.6 She married William James Tullis on December 3, 1949 at Gainsville, Cooke Co., Texas.5,6 Frances Elizabeth Williams died on August 25, 2014 at Oklahoma at age 80.5
