A member of the Central Baptist Church, she was a homemaker who was a 15-year volunteer of the Summers County Hospital Auxiliary, a loving and caring mother to both of her sons and the last surviving member of her family. Preceded in death by her husband Gilbert "Gibby" Conner in 1987; four sisters, Cloteel, Ann, Eleanor and Francis; one brother, Ned. Survived by two sons, Bob Conner and his wife Debbie and Wayne Conner both of Hinton; three grandchildren, Michelle and husband, Brian Bowling, of Neverra, Fla., Shawn and wife, Jessie Conner, of Hinton and Jared and wife, Jessica Conner, of Princeton; four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Bailey Bowling, Cayden and Preston Conner; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Cobb and Bishop Earl Shrewsbury officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenbrier Burial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. on December 21, 2007.3

She was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Iowa. Ruth was an avid reader and also enjoyed word search puzzles, her pets, photography, and the changing of seasons in Iowa. Mostly she loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Survivors include her children, Sally Ann Kling, Peggy Jean Klinge, Jennie Mae (Mark) Anderson, Clayton Philip (Deborah) Kling, and Vickie Lee (James) Roach; 13 grandchildren; 31 2/3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil in 2010; parents; son, Bill Kling; and brothers, Willis Cook and Bob Cook. Now she’s dancing with Dad forever … on October 24, 2012.3

     Grace Walton Gearheart Grace Jennings, who lived just shy of 91 years of age, passed quietly, painlessly and lovingly surrounded by her children and grandchildren on January 11th, 2019 at Manassas Health & Rehabilitation, where she had resided for 2 years. Grace was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on March 1, 1928 and was raised in Birmingham, Alabama. After completing high school, Grace and her sister Lynn, moved to Virginia to begin their careers at the Pentagon. Grace retired with U.S. Customs in the early 80's as an Administrative Manager. Grace had a great love of children, nature, music and words. Grace is survived by her 2 daughters: Diane (Jim), Sherry (Matt), son Peter (Joanamar), 5 grandchildren: Melissa, Nathan, Amber, Crystal, Dawn, 12 great-grand children and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Mary Emma, her 2 sons Ray and Paul, her husband Carl, her grandson Trevor and her 2 sisters Lynn and Virginia.7 She was born on March 1, 1928 at Raleigh, Wake Co., North Carolina.7,3 As of circa 1950,her married name was Jennings.7,3 She married Carl Raymond Jennings Sr. circa 1950.7,3,9 Grace Walton Gearheart and Carl Raymond Jennings Sr. were divorced before August, 1968.10 Grace Walton Gearheart died on January 11, 2019 at Manassas, Virginia, at age 90.7
