She loved spending time with her family, friends, baking cakes with love and listening to Southern Gospel Music. She spent her life helping and serving others and letting her life show her love for Jesus. Left to cherish her memory are her Daughter, Shanna Simmons (David); Son, Wesley Dove (Nancy); Grandchildren, Kara Simmons Jeffcoat (Josh), Lauren Dove Koke (Jeremy), Cory Simmons (Brandy), Weston Dove, and Frannie Simkins; Great-Granddaughters Karleigh Jeffcoat and Baby Koke coming soon, Great Grandson Logan Jeffcoat, Brothers George Epperly and Neil Epperly (Jackie), Sisters-in-law Janice Hodge and Dianne Dove, Brother-in-law Calvin Dove as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and numerous friends. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Vincent Lee and the staff of JenCare, Dr. Stacy Rogers and the staff at Virginia Oncology and the nurses and caregivers from Westminster Canterbury at Home for your wisdom, kindness, compassion and peace you all provided to us. The graveside service will be held at Colonial Grove Memorial Park on Princess Anne Rd., Va. Beach. on September 17, 2023.5

Claude and Claudia Dove in Blacksburg, VA. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his Brother, Ted Dove. Ernie was a painter by trade and he was a partner of the Dove Paint and Wallpaper Company. He was a member of Gateway Church where he served as Bus Captain, Usher, Greeter and Senior Ministry Leader. Ernie loved spending time with family, hunting, fishing, Nascar and the NY Yankees. One of his greatest traits was that he never met a stranger. Left to cherish his memory are his Wife of 54 years, Eva Jo Dove; Daughter, Shanna Simmons (David); Son, Wesley Dove (Nancy); Grandchildren, Kara Simmons Jeffcoat (Josh), Lauren Dove, Cory Simmons, Weston Dove, and Frannie Simkins; Great-Granddaughter, Karleigh Jeffcoat; Sister, Janice Hodge; Brother, Calvin Dove (Darlene); Sister-in-law, Dianne Dove; Brothers-in-law, George Epperly and Neil Epperly (Jackie); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and numerous friends.      Thelma Louise Smith Thelma S. Epperly, 97 of Troutville, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. She was the widow of S. Earl Epperly. Her three brothers; Charlie E. Smith, Jr., William D. Smith, and Walter B. Smith, and three of her sisters; Belva L. Hall, Mildred E. Quick, and Evelyn Graham also preceded her in death. Mrs. Epperly was a talented seamstress and until very recently was still doing alterations. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Williams and her husband, Jim of Troutville, grandson, Jay Williams, granddaughter, Jennifer Lorman and her husband, Jeffrey, great-grandchildren; Janelle Lorman and Sarah Jessica Lorman, a sister, Darlene M. Graham, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at the graveside at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg.3 She was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 501 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.3,4 She was born on May 16, 1917 at Botetourt Co., Virginia.1,5 She married Sidney Earl Epperly, son of John P. Army artillery veteran of World War I, holding the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clarice A. Wickham, Henderson; a daughter, Mrs. Chester Sinclair, Henderson; a brother, Ed J. Wickham, Blacksburg, Va; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was a Past Worshipful Master of Covington Lodge No. 171, Clifton Lodge No. 166, and Mountain City Lodge, No. 67 at Lexington. He also had served as District Deputy Grand Master of several masonic districts. Other than his wife, Mr. Wickham is survived by one son, Howard Lawrence Wickham Jr., Covington; one daughter, Carolyn Vaughan Young, Roanoke; five sisters, Louise Papayanis, New York, N.Y., Frances Williams, Christiansburg, Ruth Shelor, Christiansburg, Jean Lois Clifton Marietta, Ga., Sandra Zender, Lawrence, Kan; five grandchildren, Stephen Vaughan, Scott Vaughan, Andrew Vaughan, Treasa Herman, and Vickie Callaghan; three great-grand children, Johnathan Sterner, Jay Vaughan, and Jessica Herman. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. Masonic Rites will be conducted at the grave by Covington Lodge No. 171. Pallbearers will be Past Masters of Covington Lodge No. 171, William C. Bennett, Johnnie Charles Sr., Clyde H.. Landis Sr., Lewis D. Kemper, Robert E. Loving, and John C. Scott. on April 7, 1998.2

She is survived by her son, David Shelor Sr. and fiancée, Betty Spence, of Christiansburg; grandsons, David Shelor Jr. and wife, Leisa Shelor, Blacksburg and Christopher Shelor and wife, Kandee Shelor, of Florence, S.C; great-grandchildren, Trey, Chas, Mason and Brock Shelor; sisters, Sandra Zender and Louise Papayonis; and all her friends in her bridge club. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. on March 31, 2014.3
