During the six years of service, he was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida and Washington, D.C. He spent two tours on the Aircraft Carriers, the USS America, and the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. While overseas, he had the opportunity to see places such as Jerusalem, Italy, and other countries in the Mediterranean. After his term in the Navy, Melvin became the business manager for Christiansburg Cash Register Company, a family business where he worked with his brothers and other family. Melvin is survived by: his father, Lewis H. Angle; two brothers and sister-in-law, Steve Angle, Van and Janice Angle; one sister and brother-in-law, Winona A. and David Baker; nephews, Shawn and Shannon Angle and Justin Angle; two nieces, Stacy and Andrea Baker; several aunts and uncles. We all loved him and we will miss him. Interment followed in Cole Family Cemetery. on January 10, 2002.9

Her life was a testimony of her love. She will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be at Boitnott Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, with interment in Huffman Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. on June 16, 1996.1

Elmer Gerald "Bish" Jones was buried at Ross Cemetery, near Rt. 606, east of Rt. 615, Craig Co., Virginia.2,4 His Social Security Number was 226-26-9248.6 He was born on July 23, 1926 at Sinking Creek, Craig Co., Virginia.6,2,3,4,5,7 He married Ocie Ann Craft, daughter of Theodore Roosevelt "Teddy" Craft and Goldie Gretchen Looney, on June 11, 1949 at North Carolina.1,2,8,4 Elmer Gerald "Bish" Jones died on May 14, 2010 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 83.6,2,9,4,7 He Elmer Gerald (Bish) Jones, 83, of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2010. He was born July 23, 1926, in the Sinking Creek Valley of Craig County, Va. Son of the late Denny W. and Emily Echols Jones. He attended Old Bethel United Methodist Church in Craig County. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Woodruff; brother, Zane M. Jones; and granddaughter, Emily Caroline Jones. Mr. Jones served in the United States Army in World War II, during the Occupation of Germany. He retired from Sovran Bank (now Bank of America) as an Assistant Vice President and Manager of the Crossroads Branch. He was an avid golfer and he and Ocie traveled to 48 states. Elmer was a past president of the Williamson Road Kiwanis Club from 1967 to 1968. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ocie Craft Jones; his son, Jerry L. Jones and his wife, Caroline, of Waynesboro; daughter, Carol Canode and her husband, Sam, of Troutville; two granddaughters, Shannon M. Turner and her husband, Mitchell, of Fincastle, Ann Jones Long and husband, H. Davison Long Jr., of Midlothian; grandson, Alan Canode, of Madison, Wis; three great-grandchildren, Alayna Emily Turner, Kylie Brooke Turner and Emily Caroline Long; sister, Florene Jones Eakin, of Culpeper, Va; and numerous other family members and friends. Interment will follow at the Ross Cemetery in Craig County. on May 15, 2010.2
