Dorothy Louise Pitsenbarger Dorothy Louise Pitsenbarger Berry Campbell Fitzwater, 5 days short of being 96 of Maplewood, WV went to her resting place with the Lord on September 15, 2018. She had only been at the Bower Hospice House in Beckley two days. She was born on September 20, 1922 at Plum Grove, WV to the late Joseph and Sadie (Meadows) Pitsenbarger. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands Fred Berry, Leo Campbell and Wilbert Ray Fitzwater and her only daughter Patricia Ann Jones, sisters Ethel Cross, Mabel Carter, Zelma Gunnoe, Bethel Amick and Thelma Fox; brothers, George, Johnny and Joseph Pitsenbarger. Those left to cherish her memory was her only son Fred (Bucky) Berry of Layland, WV, Grover (Jimmy) Jones and wife Wanda, Grandchildren; James Jones (Angela) of Fisherville, VA, Jeff Jones (Lisa) of Turnnersville, NC, Brittany Jones of Meadow Bridge, Beverly Villagomaez (Salvador) of High Point, NC, Barbara Lego (Billy) of Meadow Bridge, WV; Great Grandchildren, Justin Lego, Jessica Lego, Christina Hanna, Michael Jones, Shawn Jones, James Jones and Logan Jones. Great Great Grand Children, Kevin Hanna, Jr., Emily Hanna, Zoey Jones, Braylee Jones, Isabella Jones and Leland Jones, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, her caretaker Rita Goins and family. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the Loops Road Holiness Church, she loved to praise the Lord and she loved company. She hosted the family reunion for years and was the official biscuit maker. She liked to sew and crochet before she lost her eyesight and talk on the CB. She had her wish granted to be able to attend the family reunion held this year on August 5th. The body will be taken to his home at Goodwill this morning at 10 o'clock by the Mercer Funeral home, who prepared the body following the accident. Patterson was killed while watching the roof of the mine for a possible fall of slate that would endanger the life of a fellow worker. A single piece of slate fell from an unexpected point and caught Patterson as he was leaning against a mine car. He was instantly killed. He had been an employe of the Buckeye Coal and Coke company for several years and was the son of Newton Patterson a well known resident of Goodwill. Besides his father he is survived by his widow and two children. on December 2, 1926.5
