The body will be taken to his home at Goodwill this morning at 10 o'clock by the Mercer Funeral home, who prepared the body following the accident. Patterson was killed while watching the roof of the mine for a possible fall of slate that would endanger the life of a fellow worker. A single piece of slate fell from an unexpected point and caught Patterson as he was leaning against a mine car. He was instantly killed. He had been an employe of the Buckeye Coal and Coke company for several years and was the son of Newton Patterson a well known resident of Goodwill. Besides his father he is survived by his widow and two children. on December 2, 1926.⁵
