She was a charter member of Sun Valley Baptist Church in Anthem, Ariz., and former member of Whipple Avenue Baptist Church in Canton. She was active in the Ohio Eastern Star, having been a past matron of the former Augusta Chapter in Augusta, Ohio, and a current member of Delta Chapter 539 in Canton. She also was a member of Nazir Caldron 27 and a life member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by her daughter, Paula of Phoenix; son, Randy of Phoenix; granddaughter, Michelle (Thomas) Griffin of Marshallville, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Alannah, Mikayla, Aidan and Connor Griffin, all of Marshallville; sisters, Wilda (Bob) Dixon of Alum Creek, W.Va., and Brenda Snider of Cleveland, Tenn; and brothers, Earl (Pat) Conner of Olmsted Falls and Carl Conner of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Brown, on Jan. 18, 1995, whom she married Dec. 29, 1950, in Nicholas County, W.Va; parents; son, Roy Allen; and sister, Wanda. Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Canton Masonic Temple, 836 Market Ave. N., with Pastor John L. Moosey officiating. Burial: Augusta Cemetery. Visiting hours: 6 to 9 p.m. today at Canton Masonic Temple, with an Eastern Star service at 5:45. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Sun Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 74474, Anthem, AZ 85087. Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home of Minerva, Ohio, is handling the arrangements.

Born in Widen, W.Va., he had lived in the Grafton and LaGrange area since 1953. Mr. Conner worked as a machine operator for 50 years at General Industries until retiring. He was a Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He enjoyed Sunday drives in his truck, watching wrestling and baseball on television. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Beatrice (nee Brown); daughters Cathy Ayala of Elyria and Carolyn Conner of Lorain; a son, Calvin Conner of Elyria; two grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Demaline of Arizona; and brothers Bob Conner of Kentucky, Paul Conner and David Conner, both of West Virginia, and Charles Conner of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Elsie Conner. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. today in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Townshiop, with military services conducted by Hinkson-Hysell VFW Post 3341. Arrangements are being handled by Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home in Grafton. on May 26, 2006.4
