He was born in Danville on March 30, 1904, a son of the late Alvis E. and Drusilla Fitzgerald Daniel, and spent his entire life in the Danville area. For the past 36 years he had lived on the Blair Loop Road. He operated Daniel Jewelry Store for over 20 years and was semi-retired, last working at Speer's. On Jan. 5, he married the former Fannie Scearce, who survives. He also leaves one daughter, Mrs. Darlene Dodson of Cumberland, one sister and one brother, Mrs. Verlie Booher and Eldridge Daniel, both of Danville; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends today from 7:30 to 9 p.m. At other times the family will be at the residence in Westover Hills. on March 8, 1974.³

He was born in Danville, Va., the son of the late Charles and Maybell Parrish Elliott. He lived for most of his life in Richmond, Va., before moving to Durham in 1971. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Booher Elliott. Mr. Elliott was a retired employee of Liggett-Myers Tobacco Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served during World War II in the Pacific. Surviving are one son, David Elliott of Cumming, Ga; two grandchildren, Denise Young and Eli Elliott both of Cumming, Ga; one sister, Mrs. Nancy Weatherford of Kernersville; and five brothers, James Elliott of Sandston, Va., Charles Elliott of Culpepper, Va., Robert Elliott of Danville, Va., Howard Elliott of Trinity, Fla. and Eugene Elliott of San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Clements Funeral Chapel. Graveside rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. in Schoolfield Cemetery in Danville, Va. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at - Clements Funeral Home in Durham. on December 7, 2003.⁴
