The youngest of eight children, Gertie was born in West Virginia to Roscoe Stanton Hall and Fay Bailey Hall. She was affectionately called "Tudie" by her brothers and sisters, since as a small child, this was her own pronunciation of her name. Gertie was married to the love of her life, Arthur (Art) Higginbotham in 1950, and resided much of her life in the Raytown, MO area. Gertie and Art were married 34 years until his death in 1984. She was baptized July 6, 1973, at Spring Valley Baptist Church, where she was actively involved for many years. She had many interests in her life including, cake decorating, candy making, dog training, sewing, gardening, becoming an artist, traveling, and golfing. She was a marvelous cook and loved preparing elegant gourmet meals for her friends and family. Whatever her endeavor, it was done with excellence! Gertie is survived by siblings Carmen Massey of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Clifton Hall of Roanoke, Va., and Ruth Whittaker of Fairless Hills, Pa. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family is especially grateful to Garden Terrace of Overland Park, for their excellent care in the last phase of her life. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, 11:30am, at Spring Valley Baptist Church, 8801 E. 79th St., Raytown, Mo., 64138. Survivors: four daughters, Kathy White and Connie Ricks both of the home, Nancy Bowman and husband Dan of Bluefield, Susie Burdette and husband Jim of Evansville Ind; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother. Thurman Hall and wife Lena of Princeton; and a host of nieces and nephews; her special caregiver, Rosie Culberson. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Gary Durham officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery near Princeton. Friends may visit with the family today (Monday) from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She was a member of the Lerona United Methodist Church at Lerona. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed quilting. She was the director of Pipestem's Branch of Mountain Artisans Co-op. Mrs. Foley retired from the Pipestem State Park with over 10 years of service. After her retirement, she continued quilting, reading, gardening and sharing her life with her family, she also enjoyed the companionship with her dog Candy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Basil Hall and a sister, Ruth Tyree. Left to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Richard S. Foley of Pipestem; a son, Steven D. Foley and wife Diana of Axton, Va; four daughters, Debra Volkmer and husband Donald, MD, FACP of Spencer, N.C., Lola Kathy Horton and Alice F. Jarrett of Bassett, and Peggy F. Washburn of Vesta, Va; 10 grandchildren, Rene Pendleton, Angela Horton, Jennifer Donnelly, Veronica Brabb, Farrah Lilly USCG, Ricky Foley, Amanda Horton, Michael Foley U.S. Army, Joshua and Lauren Jarrett; nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Wood/Foley Cemetery at Pipestem. Friends may visit with the family today from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. "Joel" Hudnall and Cynthia Ann Poff, on September 14, 1876 at Kanawha Co., West Virginia.1 As of September 14, 1876,her married name was Hudnall. Mary Elizabeth Kuhn died on May 25, 1940 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 84.2,4 She Mrs. Mary E. Hudnall, 85, of 111 Ohio avenue, died early yesterday morning at her home after a long illness. Services will be held at 2:30 tomorrow at the Baptist temple of which the deceased was a member, Rev. Pat Withrow and Rev. J. B. Overmyer will officiate and burial will be in Spring Hill cemetery. The body will be at the residence until funeral time. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. A. E. Harmon. Mrs. U. J. Farley, Mrs. D. R. Moss and Miss Maude Hudnall; two sons, Emmett D., and Emory C. Hudnall, all of Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Stafford of Charleston and Miss Florence Kuhn of Marmet and two brothers, John H. Kuhn of Marmet and James A. Kuhn of Charleston. on May 26, 1940.4

West, on October 6, 1909 at Carroll Co., Virginia.1,2 As of October 6, 1909,her married name was Poff. Mary Edna Dalton died on March 14, 1975 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 92.2 She Mrs. Mary E. Poff, 92, of Bramwell died Friday afternoon in a Bluefield hospital following a long illness. Born at Hillsboro, Va., she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Rachel Goad Dalton. She had been a resident of Bramwell for the past seven years and was formerly of Bluewell. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Montcalm. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Poff in 1931 and one daughter, Cloa E. Poff. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include five sons, C. M. Poff of Rock, Pelby Poff of Montcalm, William P. Poff of Louisville, Ky., Arthur Poff of New Richmond and Troy W. Poff of Bramwell, with whom she had made her home; two daughters, Mrs. Drexel (Carmen) Long of Rock and Mrs. Zethel East of Snowville, Va; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Elder James H. Sutphin and Elder Joe Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in the Lambert Cemetery at Rt. 2 in Rock. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and granddaughters will serve as flowerbearers. Friends may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 16, 1975.2
