Mr. Martin first came to the south Brevard area in 1953 from Favetteville, W. Va., where he had retired as chief of police. In 1954, he accepted the job as chief of police in Indialantic for four and a half years when he became ill. He was a member of the Protestant faith, a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Fayetteville American Legion Post 149. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Goldie Martin, Eau Gallie; one son, Bill Martin, Savannah, Ga; one grandson, James Martin, Savannah; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Florida Memorial Gardens. on December 5, 1961.8

Henson of Lake Helen, Fla., and Frank Henson of Fayetteville; a daughter, Betty Jo Goddard of Rosesville, Mich., a sister, Catherine Martin Durrett of Fayetteville; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren. Burial will follow in the Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville. on July 25, 1992.6
