Minnie Geneva Goldsmith was buried at Ebenezer Cemetery, Hendersonville, Henderson Co., North Carolina.5,6 She Minnie Geneva Goldsmith Garren, 98, of Hendersonville, died Friday December 26, 2014 at the Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation. Minnie was born December 5, 1916 to the late Gordon Riley Robert Goldsmith and Sarah Sanders Dill. She was preceded in death in 1983 by her husband John Flemuel “Flem” Garren. Minnie was also preceded in death by her son John Wayne Garren and by three brothers and two sisters. Minnie was born in Asheville and attended the Hendersonville Public Schools. Flem and Minnie had met in childhood and soon married in 1930. She loved her country music, her cowboy boots, singing and dancing. Minnie was the rock of the family providing three warm meals a day; she loved to cook and always had something going on the stove. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a vanilla ice cream cone on occasion. Minnie is survived by her loving sons; Charles Garren, Jerry Garren, Larry Garren, Uyless Garren and his wife Carla all of Hendersonville, and Dennis Garren and his wife Darlene of Etowah. Her daughters; Viola Garren Maphis of Florida, Dorothy Garren Stinnett and Wanda Poe and her husband Mike all of Tennessee, Glenda Cliff and her husband Larry, and Debra Moody of Hendersonville. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Jeane Goldsmith of Brevard and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation and Hospice for their care and support. May God Bless you all. He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County and a son of the late Gordon Goldsmith and Sara Dill Goldsmith. One brother, Riley Goldsmith and two sisters, Elsie Ross and Margaret Green, also preceded him in death. He was employed with American Feldmuehle for 10 years before retiring in 1981. After retiring, he worked with Ingles Grocery Store for a number of years. He was a huge Washington Redskins fan and also enjoyed fishing. He will be dearly missed. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Leah Ashe Goldsmith one son, Lonnie E. Goldsmith of Hendersonville two brothers, Robert and Archie Goldsmith of Hendersonville two sisters, Minnie Garren of Hendersonville and Marybell Thompson of New Jersey four grandchildren, Andy, Clay, Sean and Michael four great-grandsons along with several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Shepherd's Church Street Chapel with the Rev. Bill Landreth officiating. Burial will follow in Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Thos. Mary Belle Goldsmith Mary Belle (Goldsmith) Thompson, 89, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at home with loving family by her side. Born in Hendersonville, North Carolina, daughter of the late Gordon and Sara Elizabeth (Dill) Goldsmith, she lived in Plainfield, New Jersey until meeting her husband at which time they lived in Piscataway, New Jersey and then moved to Pennsylvania, Frost Proof, Florida, and settled fourteen years ago to Somerville where she was a resident at the Somerville Senior Citizens Adult Center. Mary had twenty years of dedicated employment with UNISYS in Warren, New Jersey as an assembly worker. She was an avid bingo and casino player, liked to paint, do needle work and knitting, and loved bowling. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Paul Thompson, Sr. on July 1, 1991; a daughter, Gayle Thompson; a son, Dan Thompson; and many brothers and sisters. Mary is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Karan and Vilmos Hazy of Somerville and loving son, Richard P. Thompson of Salem, Oregon; dear brother, Robert Goldsmith; dear sister, Minnie Goldsmith; two cherished grandchildren, Amy and her husband Chris Esposito and Robert Hazy and his wife Nuirka; four adored great-grandchildren, Matthew Hazy, Tristan Hazy, Emily Esposito, and Ashley Esposito.5 Her married name was Thompson.5 She married Richard Paul Thompson.5 Mary Belle Goldsmith was born on May 23, 1925 at Hendersonville, Henderson Co., North Carolina.2,4,5 She died on April 23, 2014 at Somerville, Somerset Co., New Jersey, at age 88.4,5

Robert Edward Goldsmith Mr. Robert Edward Goldsmith, 79, of 742 Yellowskin Road, passed away Monday, December 03, 2007 at Womack Army Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December, 5, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Butler Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Wiley Autry Cemetery. Mr. Goldsmith was the son of the late Fred Goldsmith, Sr. and Florence Smith Goldsmith. He was a retired Master Sgt. With the United States Army. Mr. Goldsmith is survived by: wife, Dorothy McLamb Goldsmith, of the home; four daughters, Joy L. Goldsmith, of Ellicott City, Maryland, Teresa M. Quesenberry and April L. Travers, both of Gerrardstown, West Virginia and Yvonne H. Davis, of Martinsburg, West Virginia; sister, Phyllis Owens, of Culver City, California; two step-sons, Larry O. McLamb, of Pasadena, Maryland and Jerry H. Jerry Flemuel "Red" Garren was buried at Ebenezer Cemetery, Hendersonville, Henderson Co., North Carolina.2,3 He Jerry “Red” Flemuel Garren, age 74 of Hendersonville passed away Sunday, November 15th, 2015 after a sudden illness. He was surrounded by his loving family, cousins, and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his Parents, Minnie G. and John Flemuel Garren; and his brother, John Wayne Garren. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County; Jerry was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. He is survived by his brothers, Charles, Larry, Uyless (Carla), Dennis (Darlene); sisters, Viola Maphis, Dorothy Stinett, Wanda Poe, Glenda Cliff (Larry), and Debra Moody; and many nieces and nephews, they always made him smile. Jerry will be missed by all who knew him. He was strong, independent, likeable and never short of words. His church, family, friends, and his chickens were his life pleasures. Our comfort is knowing he is now with God and in the arms of his Mama whom he has missed so much. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18th, 2015 in Thos. Shepherd’s Church Street Chapel conducted by the Reverend Branton Burleson. Burial will follow the service in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.2 He was born on September 28, 1941 at Henderson Co., North Carolina.1,3 He died on November 15, 2015 at age 74.2,3
