Ragano on Feb. 7, 1999. They were married May 11, 1946, in Ozone Park, N.Y. Her brother, Harold R. Tobias, also preceded her in death. Leona was a 1939 graduate of Jersey Shore High School, and graduated from Hahnemann School of Nursing and Dickenson Seminary (Lycoming College). Leona honorably served her country in the Women's Army Corps in World War II from August 1943 to January 1946. She was a Teletype Operator for the Army at the Pentagon during the D-Day Operations. Leona worked at Medical Hospital and retired from AT&T in New York City. She and Phil resided in Ozone Park, N.Y., for 30 years before returning to live in Jersey Shore. She was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church where she served as a cantor, in the choir, and the Alter and Rosary Society. Surviving are cousins; nieces; nephews; and dear friends. Burial will be held at Jersey Shore Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard. on May 21, 2015.5

Eckman of Montoursville; one son, Mike Tobias of Montoursville; one granddaughter; one sister, Leona M. Ragano of Jersey Shore. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. The Rev. Jeffrey LeCrone will officiate. on December 18, 2003.3

     Michael Lee "Mike" Tobias Michael Lee Tobias, 65, of Williamsport, passed away on January 13, 2017, at the Williamsport Hospital following a lengthy and courageous battle with lung cancer. Born July 27, 1951, In Jersey Shore, he was the son of the late Barbara J. (Jewell) Hall, Montoursville, and the late Harold Robert Tobias, Lodi, CA and was also the stepson of the late Dale K. Hall, Williamsport. A 1969 graduate of Loyalsock High School, Mike attended Lycoming College before being drafted into the Army. He served honorably in Vietnam between March 18, 1971, and December 12, 1972. After his Army service, Mike returned to his job at the former Bill Fry Ford Company, Montoursville, before beginning his 30-year career as a United States Postman, retiring in 2015. Mike was a member of the Republican Party, the NRA, and many other conservative groups. He was also very interested in politics, classic cars, classic rock, and major league football (Raiders) and major league baseball (Orioles). Mike is survived by his sister Sharyn M. Eckman (Jim), Montoursville, a niece Erica M. Eckman (Jared) Hardy, step-grandniece Gabrielle Hardy and step-grandnephew Dominic Hardy, all of Lock Haven, a maternal aunt Mary Jane Keller, Tyrone, by many cousins, and by his beloved cat Lee Ann. He is also survived by two stepsisters, Joanne (Bob) Machold, Tucson, AZ, and Marcella (David) Moharter, Arlington, TX, by Marcy’s daughter Shannon and by Shannon’s three children. A joint memorial service to honor the lives of Mike and his mother will be held at Central Baptist Church, 601 Seventh Avenue, Williamsport, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Twin Hills Memorial Park with full military honors accorded to Mike by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.3 He was buried at Twin Hills Memorial Park, 3332 Lycoming Mall Road, Muncy, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.3 He was born on July 27, 1951 at Jersey Shore, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.3 He died on January 13, 2017 at Williamsport, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, at age 65.2,3

He is survived by his wife, three brothers and three sisters, Joseph and Orrie, of Lock Haven, Walter, who is a patient at the Philipsburg Hospital, receiving treatment for an injury to a foot, suffered in a fall last week; Mrs. Jacon Bower, Mrs. Charles Lindsey and Mes. Mabel Miller, all of Beech Creek. The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Baptit Church at Blanchard, the former pastor, the Rev. Aaron Herr, officiating, and interment will be in the Baptist Cemetery there. on March 15, 1937.6

Johnson circa 1915.9,6,4 Walter Morris Kunes died on June 9, 1957 at Lock Haven, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania, at age 66.6,4 He Walter M. Kunes, 66, of Beech Creek, died at 11.30 p.m. yesterday in the Lock Haven Hospital, five minutes after he was admitted. Mr. Kunes was stricken at 10 p.m. at his home, while watching television. Coroner Roy L. Bryerton gives the cause of death as an acute coronary occlusion. Mr. Kunes was retired two years ago after 40 years of employment by the New York Central Railroad as a freight conductor. He worked out of Jersey Shore, and the family lived there until 1924 when they returned to Beech Creek to make their home. A son of the late James and Mary Stover Kunes, he was born in Blanchard April 16, 1891. His wife, who survives him, is the former Mary Johnson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Johnson of Beech Creek. Mr. Kunes was a member of the Beech Creek Methodist Church, and had served as Sunday School superintendent for a number of years. He was a member also of Blanchard I.O.O.F. 427; and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. His wife, four sons, Walter M., Jr., of Jersey Shore; Jack J., Lock Haven; William H., Beech Creek; Porter E., of Strum, Wisconsin; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Arthur Koch of Lock Haven, survive, also 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Joseph Kunes of Flemington is a brother, and Mrs. Charles Lindsey and Mrs. Roy C. Miller, both of Beech Creek, are surviving sisters. on June 10, 1957.6

She was a deaconess of the First Church of Christ, Lock Haven. Born March 13, 1915, she was a daughter of Joseph and Elsie B. Bittner Kunes. Surviving, besides her husband, are two sons, Ronald E. Kling of Flemington and William L. Kling of this city; a sister, Josephine Fisher of Lock Haven; three grand children; and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Walker’s, 231 High St., Flemington, with the Rev. Michael Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in Mt.
