     Janet Craighead Janet Craighead Martin, of Christiansburg, won her battle with cancer Monday, May 30, 2016. Waiting to meet her at the gates of Heaven are her mom and dad, Violet and Linden Craighead; brothers, Paul and Garland Craighead; sisters, Hazel Craighead, Claudine Stump, and triplet Joan Austin. Janet was originally from Shawsville and was lovingly thought of as one of the triplets. She worked at Ray’s King Burger, Imperial Reading, Don Kenny, and Bojangles as a biscuit maker. Janet will lovingly be remembered by her loving husband of 53 years, Randel Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Gary Guilliams; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Kim Martin; grandsons, Sean Bennett, Scott Bennett, Trevor Bennett, and Kevin Martin; only granddaughter, Allyson Martin; and granddog, Rocky. She is also survived by brother, Curt Craighead; sisters, Helen Brown, Gladys Hurst, and the last surviving triplet sister, Jane Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to Carilion Hospice, favorite caregiver Nicole Lloyd, special cousin Durene Cup, and special friend Sylvia Rader. Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery.6 She was buried at Piedmont Cemetery, Rt. 11 to Shawsville, turn at nursing home, Rt. 637, about 8 miles on the left, Montgomery Co., Virginia.6 She married Randel Elwood Martin, son of Dorris William Martin and Nina Victoria Cole.5,9,6,7 Her married name was Martin.5 Janet Craighead was born on January 17, 1943 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.4,6,7,8 She died on May 30, 2016 at Virginia at age 73.6,7

Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active and long time member of Bethel Baptist Church and was beloved by many in that fellowship. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, sewing and crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Poff; her son, Ronald C. Poff; a sister, Elsie Flinchum English; and her brother, Herman "Sleepy" Flinchum.She is survived by her daughters, Linda Wintermeyer and husband, Butch, and Lisa Bain and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Ryan Poff, and Stephen and Kerri Bain; a brother, Robert Flinchum; and her granddog, "Beamer." Funeral Services will be held at the Abbey Chapel of Sherwood Memorial Park. on November 21, 2013.2

Mr. Banks is survived by his wife, Sylvia N. Banks of the home; daughter & son-in-law, Paulette & Bob Johnson of Bluefied, VA; son, Lane Banks of Port Royal, SC; stepdaughter, Sharon Coulson of Woodlawn; stepson, G. C.
