W., Roanoke, Virginia.4,8 She was born on April 13, 1930 at Floyd Co., Virginia.1,2,4,8,5 She married William Traynham "Bill" Dalton Jr. on September 2, 1949 at Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee.2,3,4,8 As of September 2, 1949,her married name was Dalton.2 Freddie Marie Sweeney died on November 21, 2019 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 89.4,8 She Freddie Marie (Sweeney) Dalton, 89, of Salem, Va., passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at her residence. She was born on April 13, 1930 in Floyd, Va. to the late Fred D. and Susie Vest Sweeney. Freddie was a strong Christian and an active member of the Living Well Church of the Nazarene in Salem, Va. Her favorite times were serving God in her church and being with her family. She would often state how her greatest blessings came from the fact that her three girls and sons-in-law were all Christians, serving God. While we may be grieving for our loss, we rejoice in the fact she is reunited with her husband as well as her Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, William T. (Bill) Dalton. Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her daughters, Kathy (Leon) Woods of Fincastle, Va., Carol (Michael) McGuire of Estill Springs, Tenn., and Beverly (Cecil) Ayers of Nashville, Tenn; Nine grandchildren; Nineteen great-grandchildren; six siblings, Sue Poff of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Audrey (Wilson) Poff of Roanoke, Va., Betty (Larry) Rodabaugh of Milwaukee, Wis., Doris (Joe) Moses of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Lynnwood (Skip) Sweeney of Cleveland, Ga., Wayne (Janette) Sweeney of Salem, Va; brother-in-law, Frank (Patsy) Dalton of Princeton, W. Va; and sister-in-law, Betty Dalton of Salem, Va.. Numerous nieces and nephews, scattered throughout the United States, also survive. Interment will be private at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Roanoke. on November 23, 2019.4

     William Traynham "Bill" Dalton Jr. William T. “Bill” Dalton, Jr., 93, of Salem, Va., passed away surrounded by family on Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Salem VA Medical Center. Bill was born on February 2, 1926, in McDowell, WVa. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was proud to serve his country. Bill was a strong Christian and an active member of the Living Well Church of the Nazarene in Salem. Bill retired after 60 plus years as a barber in Salem. He also enjoyed woodworking and various other hobbies. Surviving Bill are his wife of 69 years, Freddie Sweeney Dalton; daughters, Kathy (Leon) Woods of Fincastle, Va; Carol (Michael) McGuire of Estill Springs, Tenn., and Beverly (Cecil) Ayers of Mt. Juliet, Tenn; brother, Frank (Patsy) Dalton of Princeton, WVa; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Interment will immediately follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Roanoke.1 He was buried at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 5070 Cove Road N.      Mary Katherine Fletcher was buried at West View Cemetery, New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia.1,5,2 She Mrs. Mary Katherine Kelley, widow of P.G., died at her home in Roanoke at 6:20 Monday night, March 5, 1929, after a brief illness from pneumonia. The deceased was before her marriage, a Miss Fletcher of Fincastle, home of her parents and where she was born Feb. 15, 1873. For a number of years after her marriage, she resided in New Castle, later moving to Roanoke. Mrs. Kelley was held in highest esteem both here (New Castle--cb) and in Roanoke and from the later city came many of her sorrowing friends to join those here in offering their last tribute of respect. The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Francis H. Scott of the First Christian Church, Roanoke, with interment in West View Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. J.A. Miller of Ocala, FL and Mrs. M.A. Turner of Logan, WV. Pallbearers were L.M. Caldwell, F.B. Leffel, W.O. Martin, O.O. Lugar, E.M. Lamb and G.W. Craft.2 She was born on February 15, 1873 at Fincastle, Botetourt Co., Virginia; Her death certificate has a birth year of 1875.1,6,2,3 She married Paul Grant Kelley, son of Robert W. Kelley and Mary Jane "Mollie" Elmore, on September 5, 1896 at Botetourt Co., Virginia.3,4 As of September 5, 1896,her married name was Kelley.4 Mary Katherine Fletcher died on March 5, 1928 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 55.1,2,3
