Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Laurel Branch Church of the Brethren with Reverend Stanley Hawkins and Reverend Marvin Hiner officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Branch Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Michael Barry, Carilion New River Valley Medical Unit and Gentle Shepherd Hospice. on August 9, 2001.1

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Betty Slusher, Michael and Kay Slusher; one daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Roger Tankersley; three grandsons, Jeremiah Slusher, Jesse Slusher, and Zachary Tankersley; one great-granddaughter, Victoria Slusher; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Price and Ruth Slusher; sister and brother-in-law, Glenna and Wilbur Weddle; sister, Joann Overstreet; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John Richard and Flo Phillips; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Slusher, Myrtle Slusher, and Dana Slusher. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Laurel Branch Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Stanley Hawkins and the Rev. Marvin Hiner officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Branch Cemetery with Military Rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post #7854. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Maberry Funeral Home. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Laurel Branch Church or The American Cancer Society.
