Idleane Maggie Roop was buried at Mount Tabor Cemetery, Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.2,6 Her Social Security Number was 233-44-7548.7 She Idleane Maggie Mitchem of Crab Orchard (formerly of Hinton, W.Va.), passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, following a short illness. She was very proud to have reached the age of 90 years young. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Roy Dennis Mitchem Sr; a sister, Mary Virginia "June" Presnell, and two brothers, Phillip "Phil" Frank and George William "Billy" Roop. Roy and Idleane were married on April 6, 1941. Three children were born into this marriage: Roy Dennis Mitchem Jr. and his wife, Jenny of Hinton, Christine Marie "Chris" Sarver and her husband, Noah Lee of Crab Orchard and Joseph Ray "Joe" Mitchem Sr. and his wife Sue of New Windsor, Md. She was richly blessed by 11 grandchildren to whom she was a loving Grandmother: Matthew Wright, Vicki Mitchem, Jackie Richmond, Deborah Wilson, Andrew Wright, Robyn Robertson, Dennis Mitchem, Joey Mitchem, Katie Mitchem, Gary Sarver and Judy Richards. She had 13 great grandchildren. Idleane is also survived by brother-in-law, Troy Mitchem and his wife Jean, sisters-in-law, Mildred Ann Malcolm and Sue Warden as well as several nieces and nephews, whom affectionately called her "Aunt Idleane." Idleane and Roy enjoyed traveling. They often took long trips to visit family and friends. She enjoyed her needlework and was actively working on several projects. She enjoyed having a house full of people to laugh and visit with while providing everyone with food that warmed the soul. Idleane was a pillar of strength for her family. She not only raised her own children but also her younger siblings. Many would call her house home over the years, as their door was always open to those who needed it. Independent, stubborn, feisty, strong, creative, generous, caring, honest, faithful, mother, grandmother, friend and most of all LOVED… these are all words that describe Idleane. All who knew her loved her and she will be missed by all. Idleane was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church at Powley's Creek. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. The Mitchem family would like to thank the staff of Raleigh General Hospital and the Bower's Hospice House for Idleane's wonderful care and the compassionate words to the family during this difficult time.2 She was born on March 1, 1923 at Coal City, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.7,6,8 As of April 6, 1941,her married name was Mitchem.2 She married Roy Dennis Mitchem Sr. on April 6, 1941 at Glen Daniel, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.3,9,1,2,10,8 Idleane Maggie Roop died on June 23, 2013 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 90.7,2,6

Christie O'Brien Skinner was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lampasas, Lampasas Co., Texas.2 She was born on August 14, 1879 at Liberty, Liberty Co., Texas.1,2 She died on October 25, 1898 at Lampasas Co., Texas, at age 19.1,2 She Like the snuffing of a candle did Christie O'Brien Skinner's spirit leave its tenement of clay on Tuesday evening, October 25, 1898, at 6 o'clock. Brief mention was made in last week's Leader of the probable fatal injuries inflicted by his horse falling on him at his father's ranch seven miles west of town, and the worst fear has been realized. This accident occurred about 10 o'clock on the morning of the 20th, and he never for a moment regained consciousness. He lay as if asleep for over five days. He was brought in from the ranch Friday, and every attention that love could dictate and medical skill suggest proved futile. Christie was the second son of Capt. J. F. and Mrs. Nannie Hardin Skinner. He was born in Liberty, Texas, August 14, 1879, and had resided here with his parents for nearly fifteen years. The family is bowed down with grief over the sudden and tragic death of their loved one. The funeral took place yesterday morning at 10 o'clock, and was one of the most imposing ever seen in Lampasas, many friends paying the last tribute to a vigorous and popular young man ruthlessly cut down almost on the threshold of life. Rev. James A. Duncan, Episcopal minister from Taylor, conducted the funeral services at the city cemetery, using the beautiful burial ritual of the church. Besides the immediate family of father, mother, two sister and two brothers, there is a large family connection throughout the state, the Hardins, on his mother's side, being pioneers in Texas, Hardin County being named in their honor. Capt. J. D. Skinner, the well known Galveston capitalist, is an uncle. Several relatives were present in response to telegraphic notification. on October 28, 1898.1
