Poff, 92, of Bramwell died Friday afternoon in a Bluefield hospital following a long illness. Born at Hillsboro, Va., she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Rachel Goad Dalton. She had been a resident of Bramwell for the past seven years and was formerly of Bluewell. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Montcalm. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Poff in 1931 and one daughter, Cloa E. Poff. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include five sons, C. M. Poff of Rock, Pelby Poff of Montcalm, William P. Poff of Louisville, Ky., Arthur Poff of New Richmond and Troy W. Poff of Bramwell, with whom she had made her home; two daughters, Mrs. Drexel (Carmen) Long of Rock and Mrs. Zethel East of Snowville, Va; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Elder James H. Sutphin and Elder Joe Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in the Lambert Cemetery at Rt. 2 in Rock. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and granddaughters will serve as flowerbearers. Friends may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 16, 1975.2

She is survived by her sisters, Pauline Reed, Etta Mae Hall, Patricia and brother-in-law, Freddie Nichols; and her sister-in-law, Shelby Link. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Denise Vest Harrison and Teresa Vest Cummins; and five great-grandchildren, Sierra Harrison, Makayla Harrison, Josh Vest, Caitlyn Cummins, and Nicholas Cummins. Our family would like to thank her caregivers who became family to us all, Sherry Yopp, Amanda Walters, Jennifer Caldwell, and Teresa Cummins. Also thanks to Southern Care Hospice. Interment will follow at the Wilson Cemetery. on November 6, 2014.10

Mr. McCoy, a native of Parrott and Radford, recently retired from Appalachian Power Company after 42 years of distinguished service, which earned him the friendship and respect of those he dealt with throughout the New River Valley. He is survived by his mother, Reba T. Hopkins of Parrott; three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry W. and Brenda McCoy of Dublin, Daniel E. and Sandra McCoy of Radford, Jayson B. McCoy and Jayson's mother, Linda A. McCoy of Radford; his sister and brother-in-law, Dottie M. and Lou Kershner of Virginia Beach; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry W. and Glenda Hopkins of Parrott; three grandchildren, Travis and his wife, Tammy, Tracy and Christopher McCoy; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Roy Jennelle, Otis Mabry and Linda Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, at Fairlawn Grace Brethren Church, the Rev. Lester Kennedy officiating, with interment at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The body will arrive at the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral arrangements are by Richardson-Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home. on January 23, 1996.1
