Mrs. Cockman was a native of Mercy, W.Va., who was born on Nov. 20, 1947, to the late Robert and Frances Burk. She had lived in Liberty County since 1988, having moved here from Germany. Mrs. Cockman was a member of Grace Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher in the nursery for more than 21 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Burk. Survivors are her husband of 31 years, Andy Lee Cockman of Hinesville; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Kathryn Bowden of Midway; daughter and son-in-law, Neda and John Churchwell of Reidsville; six granchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Grace Baptist Church in Hinesville with Pastor John Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Hinesville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Scharnagl, Mike Welter, Terry King, Michael Goodson, Russell Howe and Hank Churchwell. on August 16, 2011.1

James W. "Jack" King James W. Jack King, 82, of Wheatear Way, Quail Valley Estates, Princeton, died on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at his home after a long bout with cancer. He was born May 2nd, 1926, at Ingleside, he was the son of the late John W. and Christel Thornton King. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Beth Hollandsworth King, son, Dr. John M. King and wife Jeanie of Beckley, daughters; Mary Beth Trogdon and husband Reverend Robert Trogdon of Eden, NC., Jan Wilkerson and husband Robert Wilkerson of Princeton, Patricia Moore and husband Gary Moore of Wichita, KS., and Kathryn Elliott and husband Reverend Jimmy Elliott of Fuquay Varina, NC. Thirteen grandchildren 10 great grandchildren Sister, Mary Ruth King Hollandsworth of Durham NC His extended family of Dr. Rowena Chambers and her staff, and the Amedisys Hospice Group. Mr. King retired as Chief Dispatcher, Norfolk Southern Railway, Bluefield, after 43 years of service with the Virginian, Norfolk and Western, and Norfolk Southern Railway Companies. He was a member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on the Halls Ridge Road in Princeton for 47 years where he formerly served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and choir member. He was also a charter member of the Mens Prayer Group and the DMA Dont Mention Age senior citizens of Johnston Chapel. A service of celebration will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on the Halls Ridge Road, Princeton with Dr. John M. King, Reverend Jimmie Jones and Pastor Jim Simmons officiating. She was born September 14th, 1926 in Princeton, WV. She was the daughter of the late Guy Melvin and Lillian Chambers Hollandsworth of Welch, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James W. "Jack" King, brother James Hollandsworth of Huntington, WV and wife Marjie, brother Bill Hollandsworth and wife Janice of St. Louis, MO, sister Anna Sue and husband Gene Powers of Homewood, IL, sister Fay and husband Fred Brown of Homewood, IL, brother Luther and wife Mary Hollandsworth of Durham, NC. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Trogdon and husband Bob of Eden, NC, son John King and wife Jeanie of Princeton, WV, daughter Jan Wilkerson and husband Bob of Princeton, WV, daughter Patty Moore and husband Gary of Wichita, KS, daughter Kathryn Elliott and husband Jimmy of Fuquay Varina, NC, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. Mrs. King was raised in Welch, WV where she graduated from Welch High School. She received a Master's degree in home economics from Marshall University. She retired from the West Virginia State Department of Education in School Food Service. he was a member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on Halls Ridge Road in Princeton, WV for 54 years where she served in the adult choir and music ministry and was a member of the DMA "Don't Mention Age" Senior Citizen's Fellowship of Johnston Chapel. A service of celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 8th at 11:00 AM at Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on Halls Ridge Road in Princeton, WV with her son, Pastor John King, son-in-law Pastor Bob Trogdon and son-in-law Pastor Jimmy Elliott officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Matt Elliott and Andrew Moore, grandsons-in-law Matthew Miller, B. J. Erps and Jon Martin, sons-in-law Bob Wilkerson and Gary Moore and great-grandson Daniel Miller.
