     Leo Lewis Medley Leo Medley, age 53, died in Humble, Texas on Thursday May 14, 1998. At the time of his death he was undergoing treatment for brain cancer. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Rebecca "Becky" Herron Medley; his loving son, Jason, daughter-in-law, Emily, beloved granddaughter, Savannah; and his loving son, Mark. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Barnett, brother Carl and his wife, Patsy; brother, James and his wife, Debbe; and numerous other relatives and friends. Leo was a 1963 graduate of Texas City High School and a 1967 graduate of the University of Houston. From 1967 to 1969 he served in the Army as a medic from 1976 to 1979 was a Paratrooper with the 36th Airborne Brigade of the Texas Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged at the rank of staff sergeant. From 1970 to 1979 he was a Harris County probation officer. In 1979 he joined the Humble Police Department as a patrol officer and retired from the department in 1997 at the rank of Assistant Chief. He was a graduate of the Harris County sheriff's Academy and the FBI National Academy (161st session). He would ask a that his family and friends celebrate his life rather than mourn his death. In lieu of flowers a family as asked that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Humble. Following the funeral a military graveside service will be conducted at Rosewood Funeral Home. At his request Mr. Medley's ashes will be scattered at the family's cabin and in Montgomery County near Richards, Texas. He loved spending time there and sharing the joy of country life with his family and friends.3 His Social Security Number was 453-74-0521.6 He was born on November 13, 1944 at West Virginia.6 He married Rebecca Jane Herron on May 22, 1971 at Harris Co., Texas.3,7 Leo Lewis Medley died on May 14, 1998 at Humble, Harris Co., Texas, at age 53.3,8
