He was a retired Norfolk Southern engineer and served nine years in the U.S. Navy. Surviving are his wife, Elsie Slone McKnight of the home; mother, Ruth Carter McKnight of Houston, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Paul Camillo of Herndon, Va; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Charlene McKnight of Roanoke; one sister and brother-in-law, Clara and T. L. Baker of Richardson, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joyce and Jean McKnight and Aubrey and Levona McKnight, all of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Paul Anthony Camillo, Andrea Camillo, Phillip Camillo, Carolee McKnight, and Michael McKnight. Interment to follow in Franklin Memorial Park. on April 9, 1993.1
