He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1946 to 1949 and later in the Air Force Reserve during the 1960s. He was a member of the 38th Bomber Group Association. Carl was a member of Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Covington and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Association. He was a member of the Iron Gate Baptist Church. She was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Westvaco. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Amos Grandville "Dickie" Knick; and a brother, Wayne Comstock, Jr. She is survived by her son, Joseph Casey Eaton and wife, Kristi, of Hollidaysburg, PA; three grandchildren, Kimmy Eaton of Culpeper and Kenzie and Jayce Eaton of Hollidaysburg, PA; a sister, Gail Mallory and husband, John of Chester; nephews, Wayne Dwier and wife, Becki of Altoona, PA, Travis Nicely of Moseley, and Joshua Nicely and wife, Megan of Chesterfield; in-laws, Ernie and Wanda Knick of Iron Gate and Rozetta and Henry Wills of Longdale; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church and served in the United States Army. Throughout his life he was a devoted husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend. Dickie was an avid Virginia Tech fan and loved fishing on the Cowpasture River. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis E.
