Catterton and her husband, Bill of Garden City, S.C; two aunts, several nieces and nephews, extended family and special friends, Donald Reid and William Moore. A graveside service will be conducted in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery with masonic rites conducted by Mackey Lodge 69 AF&AM. on September 17, 2002.8

"Cotton" Catterton Jr., 78, of Murrells Inlet, formerly of Richmond, Va., departed this life on Sunday, February 4, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a true fighter and his determination made the ones left behind admire him that much more. He was a native of Richmond, Va., who grew up in Church Hill. Mr. Catterton retired from Media General, where he was a painter. He also had a painting company, Cats Painting, where he painted houses all over Richmond and his customers still talk about his great ability to paint a window. His favorite quote was, "It is all in a good brush." Mr. Catterton, with his wife, moved to Murrells Inlet, thirteen years ago and that is where they made lifelong friends who became more like family, the Glossons, Elmores, Thompsons and the McBees. He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Catterton. Surviving in addition to his mother, Mary K. Catterton of Richmond, are his devoted wife, Jacqueline Hankla Catterton; daughter, Debra Welch and her husband, Michael, his "little baby" granddaughter, Hope Luberto and her husband, Andrew; grandson, Ted Welch and the apple of his eyes, great grandsons, Rocco and Jacob Luberto. All of his family and friends will miss his infectious sense of humor and his love of a good joke. on February 6, 2007.3

She is survived by a son, William Alfred Hankla, Jr. and his wife, Marye Ann; a daughter, Lisa H. Dawson and her husband, Sammy all of Rustburg; three grandchildren, Daniel Hankla, Greg Dawson and his fiance', Brittany Goff and Ben Dawson; three sisters, Dale T. Morris of Rustburg, Ann T. Reid and her husband Don of Rustburg and Merle T. Alvis and her husband Harry of Lynchburg; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Catterton of Garden City, South Carolina; and three life-long friends, Elizabeth Williams, Alese Burks and Frances White. Also surviving is a number of nieces and nephews. on January 30, 2013.2

Narrell was a native of Buncombe County. He was a U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force Veteran and a member of Fletcher Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Owens; three sons, Eddie Owenby (Debbie), Tracy Owenby and Bob Owenby (Sherry); nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher.3 He was born on June 6, 1929 at Biltmore, Buncombe Co., North Carolina.2,3,4 He married Billie Sue Young, daughter of L. After retiring from the army, he worked as a nurse at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center, was a long-time member of the Vinton First Aid Crew, and was a member of Vinton Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sylvia; his three daughters, Debbie Marsh and her husband, Bobby, Terry Hough and her husband, Mark, and Denise Spangler and her husband, Greg; his two sisters, Brenda Adams and her husband, Doug, and Anita Reynolds; his seven grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; and his beloved puppy, Brandy. Richard was a hero to his nation and a hero to his family. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. on February 13, 2017.4
