     James Leo Hall Our father, James "Jim" Leo Hall, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Jim was born to Leslie and Josephine Hall on December 15, 1940, in Lafayette, VA. He received his Bachelor's degree from VPI, now Virginia Tech, where he was also a member of the Corp of Cadets. He married Doris Jean Deel in June of 1963 and together they started their adventures. After graduation, Jim served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. Following his service, he worked his way up the corporate ladder to Southwest Virginia District Manager with C & P Telephone. During this time, Jim and Doris raised their three sons, Phillip, Gregory and Eric. Jim used his spare time to coach their Little League teams and to cheer them on in high school and collegiate sports. Jim also volunteered his time with Mill Creek Baptist Church teaching Sunday School classes, with the local Cattleman's Association and local Credit Union Boards. After 25 years, he retired to Woodsdale Farm in Fincastle, VA. Jim and Doris poured their energy into renovating the 1811 house on the property; keeping the old world charm and adding onto it. Jim enjoyed being outdoors on the farm, tending to his cattle, hunting with his beloved sidekick pup, Boone, or fishing with friends. He always looked forward to spending time with family, hosting family reunions and even a couple of weddings at the farm. He also loved tractor rides on the land and through the creek when his grandkids visited. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his dear son Phillip; brothers HC and Glenn, and his sister, Charlotte. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Doris, sons: Gregory James Hall (Theresa) of Virginia Beach and Eric Lynn Hall (Jennifer) of Daleville; brother, Dickie Hall; sisters: Debbie Garrett, GiGi Hall and Linda Bell Sarver. He was the fun-loving Pepaw to his grandchildren: Paxton Toscano (Adrian), Janie King, Derick Hall, Tanner Hall, Jessica Hall and Nora Hall; and great grandchildren: Eden, Jackson and Harlow. Jim fought a lengthy battle against Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. While his body was failing him; his mind stayed sharp, and he never lost his sense of humor. He had the great ability to make others smile and that will truly be missed. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff at The Park Oak Grove in Roanoke and Gentiva Hospice Care for all their compassion, understanding and love they showed Jim over the past year. C." Hall married Brenda Faye Welcher on January 2, 1965 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁸ Herman Cecil "H. C." Hall and Brenda Faye Welcher were divorced on May 21, 1973 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁵ Herman Cecil "H. C." Hall married Lynn Norris Miller on July 30, 1982 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁸ Herman Cecil "H. C." Hall and Lynn Norris Miller were divorced on May 2, 1990 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁵ Herman Cecil "H. C." Hall died on February 21, 2015 at Virginia at age 72.² He Herman C. (H.C.) Hall, 72, of Blue Ridge, Va., passed from this life to his Heavenly home on Saturday, February 21, 2015. His family and friends helped keep him home during his final days and his loving daughter, Paula, was at his side. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Smith Hall; his third wife, Lynn Nickols Hall; father, Leslie W. Hall Jr; mother, Josephine B. Haymaker Hall; sister, Charlotte Hall Smith; brother, Calvin Glenn Hall; special aunt, Garnette Butt; nephew, Phillip Hall; and niece, Melissa Garrett. H.C. served his country as a private in the United States Army. He retired from New River Electric Corporation after 35 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid golfer. He finished his last 18 holes on January 17. He loved animals and enjoyed bird-watching. Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughter, Paula D. Hall of Midlothian; grandson, Cameron Hall-French of Midlothian; stepsons, Jeremy and Jason Nickols of Troutville; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Doris Hall of Troutville, Richard (Dickie) and Barbara Hall of Salem, Linda and Mike Sarvor of Elliston, and Deborah H. and Gordon Garrett of Elliston; sister-in-law, Connie Hall of Elliston; sister, Gwyn G. (G.G.) Hall of Salem; aunt and uncle, Jan and Fred Apgar of Elliston; and many nieces and nephews. The family extends its special thanks to H.C.'s long-time friends and neighbors, Stan and Linda Parham. Without their help, this journey would have been much more difficult. on February 25, 2015.²

He was born on June 8, 1950, in Lafayette, Va. Glenn was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. All who knew him will miss his big laugh, fun stories and willingness to help. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.W. and Josephine Hall. Glenn leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Connie Sue; and children, Carey and Robert Peerman and grandson, Thomas, and Erin and Shon Nadeau; his brothers and sisters, James Hall (Doris), Charlotte Smith, HC Hall, Linda Sarver (Mike), Richard Hall (Barbara), Debbie Garrett (Gordon), GG Hall, Garland Atkinson, Howard Atkinson (Linda), Jack Atkinson (Betty), Vivian Semones (Dale), Mack Atkinson, Dick Atkinson (Kay), Phyllis Epperly (James), Allen Atkinson (Corrine), and Debbie Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
