Mr. Hatcher was a resident of Fort Spring for 50 years and was formerly of Beckley; a member of Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher, member of CCC; graduate of Sandstone High School in 1942, and was a retired machinist for ABB, Lewisburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Ruby McGraw, Martha Taylor, Birdie Gill and Catherine Thompson. Survivors include his wife, Nora S. Hatcher; two daughters, Martha Colleran of Fort Spring and Nora I. Chestnut of Clifton Forge, Va; a son, George F. Simmons and wife, Erma, of Alderson; two sisters, Cecile Gill of Lewisburg and Nancy Williams of Hinton; 12 grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Burial to follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Fort Spring. on July 2, 2006.5

Simpkins; son, William "Sam" Simpkins; son-in-law, Jerry Biland; daughter-in-law, Paula Simpkins; and special friend, Jack Hill. Glenda is survived by her daughters, Vicky Biland, of Gallipolis and Rhonda Kleynen, of Watauga, TX; son, Rick Simpkins, of Point Pleasant; son-in-law, Terry Tyree, of Point Pleasant; daughter-in-law, Connie Simpkins; grandchildren, Amber Simpkins, Josh Biland, Sarah Winters, Noah Tyree, Will Simpkins, Brandy Sweeney, Brandon Barkey and Branson Barkey; great-grandchildren, Katie Simpkins, Lexie Brewer, Gage and Gaven Simpkins, Brayden, Bryson and Braylon Sweeney, Brooklyn, Brittyn, Brystal, Braylea and Brilynn Barkey, and ; great-great-grandchild, Lincoln Brewer; and many extended family and friends, who will all miss her.
