She was a native of Iron Gate and had been a Peninsula resident for the past 41 years, She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and a former member of the American War Mothers. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Owen Masters Sr; one daughter, Mrs. Juanita Smith Gerringer of Painesville, Ohio; four sons, William Oliver Smith Jr. and James Francis Smith, both of Chenny, Wash., and Robert L. Smith and Alfred O. Masters Jr., both of Newport News; one sister, Mrs. Stella Hancock Lawler of Hopewell; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge.

In 1951 she married B.W. Jenkins. From 1946 until 1968 she worked as a dietitian for Campbell College, Buie's Creek, North Carolina. Mrs. Jenkins moved to Anderson, South Carolina in 1988. She is survived by: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sue Weddle Burgess and Leon Burgess, Anderson, South Carolina, Emmie Lou Weddle and Ray Love, Winter Park, Florida, and Roberte Weddle Francis, Orlando; ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd, at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2001 with Reverend John Rogers officiating. Interment followed in Restvale Cemetery. on December 13, 2001.

Surviving are hie daughters, Janet Camper and husband, Allen of Vinton, Phyllis Paulin and husband, Jerry of Bargersville, Ind; son David Walters of Vinton; grandchildren, Tammy Birch, Lisa Paulin Cid, Chris Camper, Travis Paulin, Erica Paulin; great-grandchildren Rebecca, Jennifer, Jarrod Everett and Victoria Birch, Kristin and Aaron Alls, Diego Cid, Haley Rose Paulin and Riley Everett Paulin; brothers James Earl Walters and Guy Walters, both of Salem; sisters Mildred Walters and Garnette Rose, both of Salem, Gladys Agee of Christiansburg. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on June 6, 2004.

Price of Eliasville, Mrs. J.C. Avery of Longview, Mrs. Artie Fleenor of Diana, and Mrs. Pernie Geske of Kilgore; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives. Mrs. Danley was preceded in death by her husband May 2, 1965. on August 23, 1969.
