In addition to his parents, Mr. Yeatts was preceded in death by four sisters, Lorraine Sheets, Arlene Banks, and two infant sisters; and two brothers, James Byron Yeatts and Charles Henry Yeatts. He was a member of Reed Island Springs Baptist Church where he was a deacon, and had served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He operated the Mayberry Trading Post for several years, and was a member of the Meadows of Dan Ruritan Club. Mr. Yeatts is survived by his wife, Dale Wood Yeatts, of the home; one brother, Frederick Yeatts, of Bedford, Mass; four sisters, Virginia Dare Cohen. of Topeka, Kan., Edna Ann Copenhaver, of Chuquiak, Alaska, Geraldine Scardo, of Clintwood, Va., and Sandra Dean, of Charlotte, N.C; one brother-in-law, Dan C. Sheets, of Pueblo, Colo; and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Yeatts, of New Kent, Va. Funeral services for Mr. Yeatts will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Reed Island Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Lonnie Hylton and the Rev. Clarence Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, July 11, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
