He had been a resident of Green Valley for 15 years and was a retired porter for a casino in Reno, Nev. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bain A. Patterson; and his stepfather, G. G. Petty. Thomas Bailey, Wesley Bailey, Jimmie Bowles, Buford Lusk, Brian Pack, and Allen Johnston will serve as pallbearers. on June 24, 2001.⁵
