She and Jack were active in the ACCA Temple Shrine and the ACCA Shrine Motor Patrol. Dot and Jack retired to Reedville, Va. in 1987. Family came first and she was an avid bridge player throughout her life. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Heathsville, Va. Graveside services followed at Westhampton Memorial Park. on November 30, 2011.³

Mr. Carr is survived by five grandchildren, Diana Pruitt of Winston Salem, Tracy Griffie of High Point, Stephen Carr, Lauren Elizabeth Carr and Daniel Carr all of Galax; three great grandchildren, Amanda Pruitt of Winston Salem, "Kristie" Griffie of Atlanta, GA and Paul Griffie of High Point.
