Whitaker Jr. died on November 7, 2011 at Bowen, Hancock Co., Illinois, at age 75.4,2 He Lloyd Whitaker Jr., 75, of Bowen, died Nov. 7, 2011, at 10:50 p.m. He was born Aug. 8, 1936, in Macomb, the son of Lloyd Arnold and Freida O. (Cromer) Whitaker. He married Ann Vest on May 27, 1955, in Denver, Il. She died June 11, 2005. Lloyd is survived by four children, Bruce (Kristin) Whitaker of Keokuk, Iowa, Brad (Evelyn) Whitaker, Barry (Jenny) Whitaker and Becky (Ryan) Ramsey, all of Bowen; 11 grandchildren, Tecia (Wyatt) Lantz, Trista (Jason) Henry, Bradley Whitaker, Bret Whitaker, Ty Whitaker, Derek (Kim) Vail, Corey Ramsey, Kelsey Whitaker, Rylie, Emma and Gunnar Whitaker; seven great grandchildren, Laney, Brilyn and Kash Lantz, Jadyn and Jaren Henry, Jackson and Gracie Whitaker; one brother, Victor (Merrillyn) Whitaker of Andrews, N.C; two sisters, Karen Peeler of West Frankfort and Marcia Gilbert of Taylor, Mo; one aunt, Joy Plazewski of Mesa, Ariz; three sisters-in-law, Sandra (Bob) Campbell of Bowen, Terri (Pat) Sullivan and Ginger (John) Rexroat, both of Colchester; one brother-in-law, Ronnie (Marilyn) Vest of Bowen; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; his parents; one son, Brian V. Whitaker; and one sister, Beverly Berg. He was a graduate of Macomb High School and entered into the Navy. He was a construction worker. His favorite hobbies were fishing with Ann on their pontoon, tinkering with antique tractors and he was an avid Nascar racing fan. There will be no visitation or services. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established with the Chili Park District. on November 15, 2011.2

Whitaker died on April 7, 2006 at Augusta, Hancock Co., Illinois, at age 36.3,5 He Brian V. Whitaker, 46, of Bowen died Friday, April 7, 2006, in Augusta, as the result of an automobile accident in Augusta. He was born June 9, 1959, in Macomb, a son of Lloyd and Ann Vest Whitaker. He married Terri Bruenger on June 2, 1978, in Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in rural Carthage. He is survived by his wife; his father, Lloyd Whitaker of Bowen; two daughters, Tecia (Wyatt) Lantz and Trista (Jason) Henry, both of Bowen; two granddaughters, Delaney Lantz and Jadyn Henry of Bowen; one sister, Becky (Ryan) Ramsey of Bowen; three brothers, Bruce (Kristin) Whitaker of Keokuk, Iowa, Brad (Evelyn) Whitaker and Barry (Jenny) Whitaker, all of Bowen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Whitaker. He was the owner and operator of Whitaker Construction in Bowen. He was a 1977 graduate of Southeastern High School in Augusta. He had formerly served on the Bowen Fire Department and coached the Little League baseball teams in Bowen. He presently served on the Hancock County Fair Board. He was a major supporter of his son-in-law, Wyatt Lantz of Wyatt Lantz Racing, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Funeral services were held Monday, April 10, in the Augusta Community Center located at the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Augusta. Rev. Matt Haberman and Todd Fox officiated. Burial followed in the Bowen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to an education fund for his grandchildren. on April 12, 2006.3

     Gary Dean Vest was buried at Moss Ridge Cemetery, Carthage, Hancock Co., Illinois.3 He was born on September 27, 1937 at Macomb, McDonough Co., Illinois.1,4,3 He married Carol Jean Galloway on May 19, 1961.1,3 Gary Dean Vest died on January 18, 2011 at Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, at age 73.4,3 He Gary D. Vest, 73, of Lima, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.18, 2011, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Gary was born Sept. 27, 1937, in Macomb, the son of Aubra L. and Esther (Fleming) Vest. He attended Augusta High School graduating in 1955. He was a graduate of Gem City Business College and also several schools on banking. On May 19, 1961, he was united in marriage to Carol Galloway at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carthage. Gary served in the U.S. Army receiving his honorable discharge on Feb. 28, 1966. Gary started his banking career at First National Bank in Carthage in April of 1961. He later was president and a 40-year employee of the State Bank of Lima, retiring in 2007. He also was a member of the Board of Directors. Gary also served as president of the Lima-Tioga Fire Protection District Board and was instrumental in the construction of the new firehouse in Lima. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Carthage. He enjoyed woodworking, mechanics and big engines. Gary's greatest joy was his family. Gary is survived by his wife, Carol Vest of Lima; two daughters, Sarah (Gary) Donley, of Mendon, and Suzy (Gary) Holloway, of Petersburg; five grandchildren, Jill, Thomas, and Adam Donley and Grant and Olivia Holloway; a sister, Evalie (Norman) Hare, of Hannibal; a sister-in-law, Janice Carson, of Massillon, Ohio; and a brother-in-law, Dale (Edith) Galloway, of Carthage; two nephews, David Carson, of Hamilton, Ohio, and Scott Hare, of St. Louis, Mo; four nieces, Diana Hare, of Springfield, Julie (Don) Woods of Medina, Ohio, Malyssa Galloway, of DeKalb; and Jacqueline Galloway, of Macomb; and many cousins including Brian (Lynn) Fleming, of Quincy, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws Cleo and Grace Galloway; and a brother-in-law, Ephriam Carson. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carthage with burial in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage with military rites. Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 21, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Memorials may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund. Printy Funeral Home in Carthage was in charge of arrangements. on January 27, 2011.3
