She was married in 1901 to Lindsey O. James, who preceded her in death in 1949. Mrs. James moved to the Kimball section shortly after she was married, and had resided there until the time of her death. She was a member of the Houston Methodist Church at Kimball and was active in the various church organizations until she became ill about two years ago. Qne daughter preceded her in death. Survivors included two daughters, Miss Nellie James of Kimball, and Mrs. W. W. Willard of Christiansburg; three sisters, Mrs. H. E. Collins, Mrs. A. B. Collins and Mrs. W. M. Trump, all of Christiansburg; and eight brothers, Lamar Epperly of Bluefield,
Clarence Epperly of Fort Worth, Tex., Roscoe, Perry, G. W. and
Herman Epperly, all of Christiansburg; Morris Epperly of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Earl Epperly of Roanoke. Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. on December 31, 1953.3

     Caroline Mae Kuu'ipo'nohea "Carol" Leopoldo Caroline Mae Kuu'ipo'nohea Leopoldo Johns of Nanakuli, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Bryan County Health and Rehab Nursing Home in Richmond Hill. She was born to the now late Anthony Mijia Leopoldo and Miriam Kaaiohelo Nahulu on March 22, 1940, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Caroline was a loving Catholic woman. She embraced her Hawaiian culture, and enjoyed working in her garden. Ms. Johns was preceded in death by her two brothers, Antonio Leopoldo, Glen Leopoldo; and one sister, Netti Leopoldo. She was united in marriage, for 33 years, to James Edward Johns who preceded her in death. Two of her sons survive her: Eason Holi Jr. of Nanakuli and James Pruitt (April) of Roanoke, VA. Her other two sons, George Holi and Danny Pruitt, preceded her in death. She is also survived by five daughters: Connielynn Watson (Kenneth) of Midway, Vanessa Phillip (Don) of Elliston, VA, Lynn Brizendine of Burlington, NC, Marybeth Kesterson (Allen) of Glasglow, VA, and Dodi Jean Alderman (Kevin) of August, WV. She leaves behind her beloved brother, Victor Leopoldo (Daisy) of Nanakuli. Additionally, she says farewell to 27 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.1 She married James Eldridge "Jim" Pruitt, son of Clifton Ford Pruett Sr. and Lula Clara Mary Catherine Craighead.2 Her married name was Pruitt. Caroline Mae Kuu'ipo'nohea "Carol" Leopoldo was born on March 22, 1940 at Honolulu, Honolulu Co., Hawaii Territory.1 She died on April 2, 2017 at Richmond Hill, Richmond Co., Georgia, at age 77.1

He was a life member of the Roanoke Life Saving Crew and he was active in many civic and humanitarian organizations. Mr. Veasey was a member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wives, Eleanor Epperly Veasey and Virginia Martin Cook Veasey. Surviving are his sons, William M. Veasey and wife, Ruth York Veasey of Brevard, N.C., Stephen W. Veasey and wife, Marjorie Feather Veasey of Snellville, Ga; stepdaughter, Bonnie Cook Livingstone and husband Anthony C. Livingstone of Miami, Fla; stepson, Albert W. Cook, Jr., Vero Beach, Fla; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two nieces, one nephew. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. on February 23, 2003.4
