They were in ministry for 39 years with the Appalachian Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of the Bluefield Pentecostal Holiness Church. Born in Bluefield on November 4, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Kent French and Blanche Rose French Showalter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara McGhee; a granddaughter, Teresa McGhee, and a greatgranddaughter, Amy Conner. Surviving: daughters, Mary Alice Atkins and her husband, John of Bluefield and Rachel Dickson and her husband, Sam of Galax, Va; sons, Arthur McGhee and his wife, Wanda of Bluefield and Aubrey McGhee and his wife, Judy of Bel Air, Md; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Graveside services and burial will be held at the Appalachian Conference Pentecostal Holiness Campgrounds Cemetery in Dublin, Va. Pallbearers: Joey Dickson, Kim “Mac” McGhee, Corey Abrecht, Bobby Helmandollar, David Stevens and Eddie Brewer. on July 2, 1997.⁴

Arthur Holmes McGhee Arthur Holmes McGhee, 83, of New Canton, formerly from Bel Air, Maryland, was called home by our Savior on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. He was born August 15, 1936 in Bluefield, West Virginia, to the late Reverend Albert and Margaret McGhee. Arthur was retired from the Chrysler Corporation with 30 years of employment. He was also a veteran of the United State Air Force. Arthur joined the Pentecostal Holiness Church as a teenager and was an active member for 45 years in churches in West Virginia and Maryland. He served the church, holding positions as lay pastor, Sunday School teacher and as a member of various church boards. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Wanda McGhee; three children, K. Arthur (Mac) McGhee (Diane), Karen Brewer (Edward) and Stacy Greer (Tony); three grandchildren, Corey Abrecht, Albert McGhee and Chance Greer; two great-grandchildren, Easton and Emersyn; two sisters, Mary Alice Atkins and Rachel Dickson and many other family and friends. In addition to his parents, Arthur was also preceded in death by his brother, Aubrey McGhee. Born in Radford, Va., she was a daughter of the late Dee and Alice Richardson McGhee. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and was the widow of Joseph M. Shepherd. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. James (Geraldine) Wright of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Robby (Susie) Warburton of Clinton, Md., Mrs. Frank K. (Irene) Wright Jr. of Bluefield; five sons, Albert Buster Shepherd and Garnet Junior Shepherd, both of Toledo, Ohio, Wade Shepherd of Detroit, Mich., Preston Shepherd of Hyattsville, Md., and Bobby Shepherd of College Park, Md; one sister, Miss Lena McGhee of Bluefield, Va; two brothers, Rev. Albert McGhee of Blacksburg, Va., and Preston McGhee of Los Angeles, Calif; 41 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens on the Bluefield-Tazewell Road. Pallbearers will be Danny Johnson, Oscar Tabor, Bobby Kinder, Mike Hamilton, Ray Cox, Jerry Lasi. on May 26, 1976.³

Bowling, of Bluefield, and two grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers and one sister, C. L. Richards and Mrs. T. C. Jones, Pulaski, A. H., Kegley, W. Va., J. S., Christianburg, Va. and E. C. Richards, Covel, W. Va. Pallbearers will be Charlie D. Tate, J. P. Hicks, Guy Cline, J. W. Parks, A. H. McGhee and Preston McGhee. on March 15, 1953.³

Cable on September 6, 1944.⁷ Albert Henry Richards died on August 16, 1956 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 76.^5,6,7 He PRINCETON, Aug. 16 - Albert Henry Richards, 76, of Kegey, died in Memorial Hospital Thursday at 12:15 a.m. after a brief illness. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was born Oct. 30, 1879 in Floyd County, Va., the son of the late William J. and Melvinna Epperly Richards. His first wife, Miss Ada Woolwine, died in 1940. He married the former Mary Cable Neal, who survives Sept. 6, 1944. Other survivors are one son, Ray Richards of Rock; four step-sons, Charles Neal of Battle Creek, Mich; Luther Neal of Washington, D. C., Ray and Donald Eugene of Baltimore, Md., two daughters; Miss Mae Richards of Kegley and Mrs. Lance Carter of Baltimore, Md; three step-daughters; Mrs. R. H. Owens of Princeton, Mrs. Kermit Tolliver of Widemonth and Miss Betty Joyce Neal of Kegley; one sister, Mrs. Ola Jones of Pulaski, Va; two brothers, C. L. Richards of Christiansburg, Va., and Elmer Richards of Covel. Other survivors are 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Richards was a retired blacksmith for the Weyanoke Coal and Coke Co. at Arista where he had been employed for 22 years. He was a member of U.M.W.A. Local No. 6115 at Arista and a member of the Matoaka Baptist Church. The body will be taken to the residence from the Memorial Funeral Directory in Princeton to the residence Friday at 2:30 p.m. Funeral arrangements are incomplete on August 17, 1956.⁷
