     Barbara Jean Lewis Barbara Lewis Johnson, age 92, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Nile R. Johnson. Born September 25, 1923, in Richwood, West Virginia, Barbara was the daughter of Lon L. Lewis and Iva Connor Lewis. She was a graduate of Richwood High School and West Virginia Tech. Barbara moved with her family to Aiken in 1951. She was employed as an administrative secretary by the Dupont Company at the Savannah River Plant until her retirement in 1984. Among her many activities, she was a member of the Aiken Hospital Auxiliary for over 25 years; an active member and president of the Aiken Business and Professional Women's Club; and a long time and devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she attended more sporting events for her sons than any mother should have to endure. In addition to her husband, Barbara was predeceased by her son Robert L. Johnson. She is survived by her son Michael L. Johnson (Holly), her daughter-in-law Barbara F. Johnson, and her grandchildren Sarah Kathryn Johnson, Scott R. Johnson and Brian M. Johnson.
